This document provides two methods for activating Windows 8.1 RTM using leaked keys: Method A involves installing Windows 8.1 Pro RTM using a leaked key, upgrading to include Media Center with another key, overwriting a data file, and calling Microsoft to permanently activate over the phone for free. Method B first installs Windows 8.1 Pro RTM with a leaked key and upgrades to Media Center if desired. It then uses a config tool and entered keys to attempt activation through the KMS server, or provides alternate retail keys to try activation. The methods may require multiple attempts to successfully activate.

1 RTM, LEAKED BY WZT 2 METHODSMethod A- For those having free WMC Upgrade keys from Microsoft Method B- For those who dont have WMC Upgrade keys from Microsoft A. TRICK A(This trick worked for me) Activating Windows 8.1 Professional with Media Center using the free Media Center key that you've got from Microsoft :

1.Disconnect from the internet. 2. Install Windows 8.1 Pro RTM (either x86 or x64) using this key : XHQ8NC3MCJ-RQXB6-WCHYG-C9WKB 3.After installation upgrade to Media Center by adding features with this key : RR3BN-3YY9P-9D7FC-7J4YF-QGJXW 4.After successful up-gradation, download "data.dat" and extract it using Winrar. 5.Now go to My Computer>View>Hidden Items, and tick it.

6.Now go to "C:\Windows\System32\spp\store\2.0"

7. Overwrite the highlighted (above circled) original data.dat file with the one youve downloaded in step 4 above. 8.Run "cmd.exe" as admin and type "slmgr -ipk XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXXXXXXX" (replace XXXXX with your Media Center upgrade key)

Media Center Upgrade Key here refers to the key which many of us got when Microsoft was sending free WMC Upgrade keys for Windows 8 users upon registration.

9.Open Run, type slui 4 and hit enter

10.Select United Kingdom, and call the toll free number on Skype

Calling by Skype Instructions1. Dial UK number free call using Skype [+448000188354] Dial phone and if you have been ask: Q:Product key for home or business A:Home [Dial 1] Now youll be asked for the installation IDs. Enter the 9 set of IDs you got one by one as instructed by the server. After giving installation ID, youll be askedQ:How many computer you want to use it A:1 [Dial 1] Finally, youll get the confirmation IDs from the server. Note them down or directly put them in the boxes provided and click next to activate Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Center permanently.

11.Connect to internet and have fun You can now save your valuable activation by backing up the store folder (depicted in step 6 above) until Josh Cell releases new version of Advanced Tokens Manager supporting Activation backup and restore in Windows 8.1

ROXYMAX B. TRICK B(Not tested by me, but said to be working) a.Install Windows 8.1 Pro RTM (either x86 or x64) using this key : XHQ8NC3MCJ-RQXB6-WCHYG-C9WKB. Those who want WMC, upgrade to Media Center

by adding features with this key : RR3BN-3YY9P-9D7FC-7J4YF-QGJXW and then proceed to Step b.
b.After installation download KMS.Server.Service.Config.v6.1 and extract it using Winrar c. Run as admin KMS.Server.Service.Config.v6.1 d. Goto [A]ctivation. Use [I] to install key from here: http://txtup.net/uV65R e. Then use [W] for Windows activation and in next screen hit <ENTER> twice and wait a moment. Note- The above steps may not work always. Try several times if you fail to activate Or Follow detailed steps provided below. Check Activation remaining grace period: slmgr.vbs /dlv

2.

Check Volume activation expire slmgr /xpr
