Kurumba ITB Trade Update

Kurumba Resort had a productive year in 2012 with many areas being refurbished including villas and rooms, food and beverage areas, and public spaces. Environmental initiatives helped the resort make progress on sustainability goals. New activities and classes were added at Majaa Recreation along with a children's spa. The resort's branding is being updated and new images will be available online.

Key partner product update - March 2013 Kurumba had a productive 2012 with many of the areas being

refurbished, the guest journey creatively enhanced, new resort branding about to be rolled out, the garden revitalization continuing and achieving very good process with our environmental goals. Villas & Rooms Private villas and above New Moulton Brown amenities  Presidential Pool Villa Completely refurbished with new furniture, fittings, Replacement of all furniture, fittings and artwork outdoor decks, outdoor loungers and new artwork.  Please note that the Jacuzzi was removed and replaced with a large outdoor shower Refurbishment completed within the rooms with replacement  of furniture artwork and fittings Deluxe Pool Villas Private Villas with Jacuzzis  Two of the villas extended to better balance the other rooms Garden Pool Villas  Originally called Family Villas or Garden Villas.  Beach Bar refurbished with open air feel, new furniture, loungers and day beds Public Areas Corporate Social Responsibility  Six snorkeling channels created to reduce coral and guests damage.  Using local artists and allowing them to directly sell their art to guests  Continued support for Vilingili orphanage  A waste management facility has been built, that increases the recycling of plastics, glass, metal, aluminum and kitchen waste. We believe that it is the best resort waste management system in the Maldives.  Many initiatives and purchases to reduce energy consumption such as: new inverter air conditioners, heat exchangers from the generators to make hot water, new steam Iron in the Laundry, LED lighting, upgraded desalination plant; purchased a computerized generator management system to managing energy loads.  Refurbishment of

the reception, waiting lounge, over pond entry and the rooms completed Spa under the stars is a new couples treatment located on a  Sala adjacent the ocean Kokko Spa. Kokko in Dhivehi means younger and this  experience is crafted for children between the ages of 4 and 12 years. Yoga is no a popular addition for guests at Kurumba 

Majaa Recreation  New games include a pool table, air hockey and futsal.  Canvas painting class at the Beach Bar every Tuesday afternoon.  Re-introduced the guided night snorkeling.  Re-launched the green and back of house tour. Sunset tai chi at the Sand Bar.  A friendly volleyball game with the Kurumba team.  Weekly cocktail and cooking master classes
