Auto Start

1. The document provides notes on the auto start sequence for the MDBFP pump. It describes the contacts and signals involved to start the pump automatically when certain conditions are met like the turbine running and other pumps tripped. 2. It outlines the time delays for energizing the hydraulic coupling and closing the breaker to start the pump. Interlocks like scoop position and permissives are also described. 3. Modifications needed to allow manual start of the pump even when the auto/manual switch is in auto position are noted at the end.

NOTES ON MDBFP AUTO START

1. "TDBFP Tripped " contact is generated from trip oil pressure very low (2 out of 2 logic). Turbine running contact(Derived from Turbine speed > 500 RPM) is used for runback in CMC. 2. " Scoop tube at minimum" permissive will be bypassed if MDBFP Auto/Manual switch is in Auto mode. 2(a) If MDBFP Auto/Manual switch is kept in MAN mode and if pump is not running , scoop tube will drive to minimum position without human intervention and permissive will also present. 3. Recirculation valve will be in auto and in full open condition and it will be regulated with MDBFP Pump suction flow. 4. 2TF3 is a time delay to drop out relay and set for 7 sec .This relay contacts were used for Energizing /De-energising the hydraulic coupling rapid start solenoid valves. 5. 2TF2 is also a time delay to drop out relay whose contacts are going to close the MDBFP breaker .Auto start command is parallel to the Manual start command. 6. "Pump not running and drive scoop to minimum" interlock will be bypassed and scoop is to be kept in auto, so that it will track FW pump Master command. 7. When unit is not running / MDBFP not available , MDBFP Auto /Manual Switch is to be kept in "Manual" position.
