FINAL REPORT FOR CLOSURE OF SUPPORT GRANT FROM YAYASAN KELAB-KELAB ROTARY MALAYSIA.

RY2012-2013 Name of Club: Rotary Club of Pudu-District 3300. Category: Service to New Generation. Title of Project: 36th Interact Leadership and Motivational Camp (ILTMC). Project Date: 9th to 11th March 2012. Venue: Akademi Pembangunan Belia Malaysia, Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan. Theme: Peace through Service. Project Description. Our Service to New Generation avenue successfully organized an Interact Leadership Training and Motivational Camp (ILTMC) from 9th to 11th march 2012 at Akademi Pembangunan Belia Malaysia, Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan. The theme for this project was Peace through Service wherein a total of 208 participants registered for this 3 days & 2 nights camp. The objective of the camp was to train Interactors from 9 Interact Clubs sponsored by RC Pudu from our District to take office for RY2012-13. The camp also provided a platform for our Rotaractors from Rotaract Club of Pudu and other Rotaract Clubs in District 3300 to share, to serve and fellowship with the participating Interactors, Rotarians, Teacher Advisers and their family members. Prior to proceeding to the camp on 9th March 2012, all the participants joined in a half day gotong-royong to help clean up Pasir Panjang (Hutan Lipur) Port Dickson and its surrounding areas. The gotong-royong was to instill a sense of community service and social responsibility in our youths. Thereafter, the youths proceeded to Akademi Pembangunan Belia Malaysia camp for lunch and commencement of their training. During the camp, the participating Interactors had the benefit of early training from Rotarians to take office as leaders and members of their respective Interact Clubs in RY12-13 since the school year started in January 2012. In addition, all the participants which included the 30

Rotaractors had the benefit of discussion forums/workshops on current issues involving youths in our nation, opportunity to learn from motivational speakers, as well as, participation in various outdoor activities which included the Rotary-Rotaract and Interact (RRI) games. A total of RM35, 076.40 was incurred for this project. The cost comprised of accommodation and lodging at Akademi Pembangunan Belia Malaysia, cost to hire 5 coaches to fetch the participants from Kuala Lumpur to Port Dickson and back to Kuala Lumpur. Cost of RRI games, Insurance premium, printing training materials and other miscellaneous items.

Details of expenditures as follows:Meals & Accommodation : RM15,236.40 Printing Training Materials : RM 8,000.00 Bus Rentals : RM 5,000.00 Insurance : RM 2,000.00 Banner : RM 300.00 Stationeries : RM 500.00 Mementos for GOH & Speakers : RM 500.00 RRI Games : RM 2,000.00 Miscellaneous Expenses : RM 1,540.00 Total : RM35,076.40 Publicity of Rotary The event promoted Rotary to parents and teachers of all the 9 schools where we sponsored our 9 Interact Clubs. The project was published with several photographs in our weekly Bulletin which was sent to the various advertisers of our Berita Pudu Bulletin. After the event our Public Relations Avenue handed over a brief report together newspapers. Members Involvement A total of 18 Rotarians were involved in the planning and implementation of this project. The District Governor RY 2012-13 Mansoor Saat and his spouse Emzita were the Guest of Honour and PDG Leslie Sallehuddin also graced this occasion and with photographs to some of the major

supported our program by giving a 45 minutes Inspirational & Motivational Talk to our Interactors and to all those present at the opening ceremony. Beneficial to Community The project indeed provided an opportunity for our Interactors to develop constructive leadership and personal integrity; encouraged our Interactors to practice

thoughtfulness and helpfulness to others;and provided an opening for the advancement of international understanding and goodwill toward all people. In addition, the project provided an avenue for all the participating youths to put forward their views on topical issues involving youths in our nation besides the benefit of listening and learning from the motivational speakers. The gotong-royong and the training at the camp also provided an opportunity to the participating youths to become caring and responsible citizens of Malaysia. Original This project was original in that it provided an opportunity for Interactors from our 9 Interact and Rotaractors from Rotaract Club of Pudu, as well as, other participating Interactors and Rotaractors from our District together with the Rotarians to gather to learn, to share, to serve and to fellowship with each other with a view to empower the participating youths towards promoting Peace through Service. Catalytic The project was catalytic in that it provided a platform not only for us to train our Interactors but also for us to train other youths in our country and to Go Forth to Serve.
