Previously on LOST:
Bernard handed Aaron to Claire who smiled at Charlie. Boone was stood
beside Charlie.
FU-DUMM!!
Rose turned as a sniper bullet fired past her. She stared, wide-eyed, open-
mouthed as someone dropped to the ground!
“Bernard!!” Rose called, running forward. She had tears in her eyes
as she reached Bernard. Bernard was bleeding badly as the survivors
gathered around him. “Bernard!” Rose called again as she knelt down
beside Bernard. She was crying. “Oh, no! Please no!”
“Where’s Jack?!” Charlie called.
“He... Went to the Others. There’s just us left.” Claire replied as
Aaron cried. Vincent barked loudly.
“Is anyone else here a doctor?!” Boone shouted out. No one replied.
The survivors around Bernard all looked down at him. “Then there’s
nothing we can do...”
“I love you... Rose...” Bernard croaked before closing his eyes. He
was dead!
“NOOOOOO!” Rose cried.

Ethan lowered Kate to the ground before walking over to Tom and Ms.
Klugh.
“We wait till night time,” Ms. Klugh informed Ethan. “And then we go
in. Drug Miss. Austin again. I don’t want her waking up.” Ms. Klugh and
Tom walked away a little and Ethan went back to Kate, a needle in his
hand.
“So did Ben give you Jacob’s list?” Tom asked Ms. Klugh when they
had walked away from the rest of their people. Ms. Klugh nodded.
“Yes. And he informed them about who must go.”
“You mean the divide?”
“Yes.” Ms. Klugh nodded. “Yes, they know. There are exactly five of
us staying behind. And we will be taking two of them.”
“Pace and Locke?” Tom asked. Ms. Klugh nodded again.
Charlie and Boone carried Bernard’s body over to the recent graves of
Libby and Nathan. They lowered him to the ground as Rose watched them,
crying. Claire had her arm around Rose.
“I’m so sorry,” Claire said as Aaron cooed.
“Who... Did it?” Rose asked, wiping her eyes.
“I don’t know... The Others maybe?”
“No. The gunshot came from over there,” Rose nodded in the
direction of the ocean. “It wasn’t the Others.”
“Then who? There’s no one out there.” Claire replied as she looked
out at the bare ocean.
Desmond led Naomi through the jungle. Naomi was looking around
through the trees. Desmond suddenly jerked his head up and snapped his
eyes open. He stared ahead.
“Are you... Ok?” Naomi asked. Desmond looked around the clearing.
Naomi stretched her hand out towards Desmond who suddenly ran off into
the jungle. Apprehensively, Naomi ran after him.
Rose was sat beside Bernard’s body. She was no longer crying.
“I’m so sorry.” She whispered.
The sun was now setting as Rose looked out at the ocean. Charlie walked
over to her.
“I think we should burry him. We all do.”
Rose looked up and him and nodded.
There were five people stood together. Ethan was one of them. Ms. Klugh
was stood in front of them.
“So... Three of you are going for real. Sorry, it was Jacob’s choice,
not mine. You haven’t fulfilled what the island needed of you. Ethan,
Amelia,” Ms. Klugh looked towards Ethan and an elderly woman stood
beside him, “you will infiltrate their camp. Do you understand?”
“Yes,” Ethan replied. “What is it exactly that Jacob wants us to do?”
“Find out about the people coming to the island. There are some
things we haven’t been able to find out.”
Ethan and Amelia nodded.
Locke’s eyes shot open. He looked over to his left and saw a body lying
beside him. Mr. Eko, dead. Locke crawled over to him and sighed.
“It’s my fault.” He closed his eyes as a tear fell down his cheek. “It’s
all my fault! I should have listened to you.”
Desmond sprinted out of the jungle over towards Claire and Charlie. Rose
was stood over a fresh grave, crying once more.
“Get down!” Desmond shouted. Claire and Charlie turned to look at
him. “Get down, brother!” Desmond ran at Claire and Charlie and knocked
them both to the ground as a bullet whizzed past them. Two more bullets
fired in their direction.
“Get down!” Desmond shouted at Rose. She fell to the ground,
immediately.
“What’s going on? Who are they?!” Claire asked.
“I don’t know! But we have to go!” Desmond replied. “We have to
go now!”
Night had fallen as Ethan led Kate through the jungle. They walked out of
the trees and onto the beach camp. It was bare. Kate turned to Ethan.
“Where are they? What have you done with them?!”
“I haven’t done anything with them! I was wanting to come with
you! My people... They left me.”
“I don’t care.” Kate replied as she pulled herself away from Ethan’s
grasp. Amelia and the three other Others walked out of the jungle after
them. “I’m going to find them!” Kate stormed off into the jungle.
Brother Campbell walked into the storage room to find Desmond drunk.
He was drinking from a large bottle of wine on the table before him.
Desmond grinned over at Brother Campbell.
“Fancy a drink?”
“No, brother,” Brother Campbell replied. “You know... I really don’t
know if you have what it takes.”
“What what takes?” Desmond slurred.
“What it takes to be a brother of the monastery, Desmond.”
“What makes you say that?” Desmond asked.
“Well look at you! You’re getting bloody pissed on our wine! We only
made half of our usually amount this year!”Brother Campbell seemed to
be getting angry.
“Are you firing me?” Desmond laughed.
“Yes, I’m sorry.”
Desmond knocked on the door and walked in. He placed his habit down
on Brother Campbell’s desk beside a photo of Brother Campbell and an
elderly woman.
“I thought you were going to go without saying bye,” Brother
Campbell said, smiling up at Desmond.
“Of course not.” Desmond smiled.
“If you want a lift into town, Brother Shipman is taking a ride in to
buy some supplies later. If you don’t mind doing some lifting for us in the
mean time?”
Brother Campbell led Desmond out across the grounds. There was a car
parked with the boot open.
“Give my regards to your father, Miss. Widmore.” Brother Campbell
said, shaking the woman’s hand. “This is Desmond, he’s going to help you
life the crates into the car.”
Brother Campbell walked off and Penny walked round to Desmond and
smiled.
“Hello, I’m Penelope Widmore. Penny.”
Boone and Charlie led the group through the jungle. Locke and Desmond
had fallen to the back of the group, just in front of Naomi.
“Has anything weird happened to you... You know... Since the
hatch?” Desmond asked. Locke frowned.
“What do you mean?”
“I mean... Have you experienced anything since it happened?”
“Why? What have you experienced?” Locke stopped walking and
Desmond joined him. Naomi walked past them, glancing casually at them.
Desmond sighed and shook his head.
“Nothing, come on.” Desmond walked off after the group. Locke
followed him.
