Weekly Outline:
Activity session subject : Transportation (2/2) Vocabulary: Transportation: a fire truck, a police car, an ambulance, a taxi, a truck, a motorcycle, a bus, a train, a bike, an airplane, a helicopter, a tank, a boat, a submarine, a rocket, a UFO, a jeep, a sports car, a van Linking transport with occupations and locations: policeman works at a police station and drives a police car ambulance goes to the hospital Grammar focus; How do you get to school? I walk/drive/get the bus Whats the weather like today? What was the weather like yesterday? Today its sunny/cloudy How manystudents? Activities / songs / games: Activities; Play a game using a dice with some of the vocabulary words on it i.e. how do you come to school? I come by We will make a how do you come to school survey chart. Students are each going to make a mini book of transportation. On 3 days they will be given the rest of the pages to learn and colour in. We will then assemble the books. We have a new mystery box including all our previous flashcards. Students will pick out a card and try to say the answer.

Phonics This week we are going to work on better letter recognition, starting off with a small set of 6 letters A-F. They will also be reminded of the sounds, using our activity books as a basis, we hope to recognise the letters and we may learn new vocabulary. We will also use our big book class activity where we make beginning letter words and do a connect the dots exercise together as a class, this week we will focus on letters C, D and E. Review We continue to review months of the year, weather, and colours. Every day the students will be asked what day it is and one student will change the days of the week chart as well as the weather chart. Notes / parent follow up: This is our last week of solely learning about transport, but we will continually review throughout term. When youre out and about with your child you can ask them what are we in/on? its a car/bike. If your child has come home with their writing activity booklet, they need to catch up on their letter and sounds practice, the page should also be coloured in. There will be a choice of 3 letters, you have to circle the correct beginning letter of the word shown.
