II. Course Description: This is an introduction to financial management and modern corporate finance. The students intend to establish a link between finance theory and the practice of finance including some application of peculiar Philippine business conditions on the financial policies and decision on business enterprise. It focuses on the concept in portfolio analysis, capital investment analysis and decision, capital structure evaluation and some special topics such as financing program and sources available for the cottage, small and medium enterprises. III. Course Objectives: At the end of the course, the students shall be able to: 1. broaden the knowledge of students in the acquisition and administration of funds needed in a business; 2. acquire knowledge and understanding of the scope and content of the field of business finance; and 3. gain knowledge of discounting and interest rate in mathematics, capital budgeting, portfolio diversification and capital structure decisions.
