SAN DIEGO June 13, 2013: The Lincoln Club of San Diego County announced today it is endorsing Chris Cate for San Diego City Council in the upcoming election. Chris is a proven reformer with a firm understanding of how the City Councils actions impact businesses and taxpayers, said T.J. Zane, President & CEO of the organization. His background, experience and commitment to fighting for taxpayer reforms are exactly why the Lincoln Club unanimously endorsed him. Cate said: I am grateful to have earned the support of the Lincoln Club. I am humbled to be recognized for my work on behalf of taxpayers and honored to have the backing of an organization that has been so committed to reforming San Diego city government. The Lincoln Club has endorsed and strongly supports Chris Cate for San Diego City Council because of his leadership in all our recent reform efforts, and because he has the experience and vision necessary to efficiently invest taxpayer savings into fully restoring neighborhood services and fixing our citys crumbling infrastructure, Lincoln Club Chairman Bill Lynch said.
Cate is a member of numerous community organizations and has been highly active in the Asian Pacific Islander community. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Asian Business Association (ABA) and has also been a member of various School Bond Oversight Committees, overseeing hundreds of millions of dollars in taxpayer funded school construction projects. Chris earned his bachelors degree in Political Science from the University of San Diego. During his time at USD, Chris and a high school friend started a successful small business in Kearny Mesa that specializes in auto glass replacement and windshield repair.
