Regional cooperation and collaboration in higher education then
becomes mandatory.
We, therefore, are glad that we have made many mutual benefits, sharing ideas and experiences, and also develop more potential collaborations during
our summit. We have come to set up strategies among us in order to upgrade our academic collaborations and build the international higher education community network. In this 2-day meeting we are able to share knowledge and information not just only how Taiwan University can do very well on vocational and technological sector development and build strong linkages between university and industrial sector, but also discussing possible collaboration on other sectors, such as education, nursing, and art. We realize that by opening many sectors could flourish our potential future collaboration, not just only on scholarship program, but also on other academic collaboration such as Double Degree, Joint Degree, Credit Transfer, Student/ Staff exchange, and Research and Publication. Joint
Moreover, the opportunity of having this summit is only for the university delegation, but also for the ministerial delegation. Yesterday we were glad to have a meeting with the Ministry of Education of Taiwan to develop more mutual benefial agreement to boost more opportunities for Indonesian students to study in Taiwan. We agreed to enhance DGHEs scholarship
program by setting up (3+1) scholarship scheme. DGHE of Indonesia will provide full-coverage scholarship for Indonesian faculty members at the first
three years of their doctoral studies at any fields of study programs, and the Ministry of Education of Taiwan will provide an additional full-coverage scholarship for the fourth year of study in case the students need longer time to complete their studies. We already asked Indonesian state university
consortium for putting this agreement into the consortiums agenda and to set up any follow-up action to implement this agreement. As part of our commitment to strengthen this collaboration and to find more mutual beneficial collaborations, then, we are glad to announce that we would have the next Higher Education Summit in Bali, Indonesia in the mid of May 2013. We, therefore, gladly invite the Ministry of Education of Taiwan with
