IN his endeavour to end animal cruelty, Naresh has lodged more than 450 FIRs. Founder chairman of People for Animals (PFA), Haryana and an animal lover, Kadyan has been working for animal rights since his childhood. "My father served as a Block Development and Panchayat Officer and my mother always used to keep five to seven cows at home. My mother is my natural guide and she inspired me for what I have been doing today. In 1997, Maneka Gandhi, the then Union Minister, motivated me to form People for Animals (PFA), Haryana," says Kadyan. He has also compiled a book in Hindi on the animal-related laws in India. He has also lodged FIRs against the smugglers of cows after stopping two cattle trains within a fortnight on December 10, 2000. He has also introduced a rehabilitation of Kalenders/Dancing Bears Scheme to the then Union Minister and same has been implemented by some NGOs in the country. He has also stopped mongoose hair paintbrush trade, rescued 29 lions and bear from Russian Komal Circus from Palwal. Shifting of camels in a cruel manner by BSF from Rajasthan to Delhi for Republic Day Parade was also exposed by him. The Government of India made out rules for slaughter houses in 2001 and these rules were implemented by Naresh Kadyan, lodging FIR against illegal slaughter houses in Ballabgarh (Faridabad). Remembering his most memorable moment, Kadyan says, "I have worked hard to rescue tiger, lion, bear and monkey from the circuses throughout India. In 2005, I took the carcass of black buck hunted along with two hares by Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi for post mortemcum-identification of species to Delhi Zoo and faced criminal proceedings for my strong activism." The counter case in Nawab Pataudi poaching case was the toughest struggle which I faced. They moved petition against me before the Delhi High Court. But their petition was dismissed. Presently, working as a District Khadi and Village Officer for Faridabad, Palwal, Gurgaon, Mewat, Rewari and Narnaul along with the in-charge of consignment agency, Naresh Kadyan also worked for the ban on peacock feathers trade, misuse of oxytocin injections on milking animals for lactations and many more. Presently, he is campaigning to get ban on meat export and illegal animal slaughtering at Ghazipur Slaughter House. He has recently been nominated as a member of state committee for slaughter houses by the Government of Haryana. Speaking about any recognition from the government, Naresh Kadyan said, "Two times, my name was considered for nomination as chairman of the Khadi and Village Industries Commission and Animal Welfare Board in India. Twice my name was considered for Padma Shri award in the field of social service. I was nominated for being a member of the National Disaster Management Authority of India. I have been a Nodal Inspecting Authority for Haryana and adjoining area of Rajasthan to inspect or recommend the NGO's proposals for assistance, Master Trainer to AWBI, nominee for CPCSEA, PETA and WTI." Speaking about his future plans, he said, "I am successfully running two ambulance and shelter for animals in distress. Till my last breath, I will serve animals."
