Students will understand and use the simple past tense (actions finished at a definite time in the past) through reading, listening and communicative activities so they can ask and answer questions about personal details such as things they did on the weekend.

Students are asked what activities women do when they go out together, some of the answers might be: Wear a dress, go to a bar, drink alcohol, talk about men, talk about clothes, go home by taxi, get home after midnight. (on board) Students read the report and understand that it is about the past. students are to find out the past tense of some irregular verbs in the text given first individually, then compare with a classmate, finally they check and repeat with the audio.

Problem: students might ignore the correct pronunciation of the irregular verbs used in the activity: Solution: Students will listen and repeat to a track so they can imitate the correct pronunciation of the irregular verbs in the past tense and they are given the phonetics as well.

Students are given a hand out with questions to be answered from the previous text, they work first individually then compare to a partner

Problem: Students might forget to provide the verb in the past tense. Solution: they will be reminded to use the past and encouraged to check the list of verbs provided. Problem: students might not get all the answers from the listening. Solution: if there is an answer difficult to get, the facilitator will play the specific part again and give clues to get it. Problem: some students might not provide an answer for the questions proposed. Solution: the facilitator will monitor to try to help them produce.
To practice a listening activity to get specific information from questions in order to improve listening comprehension.
Students check the third picture of the first hand out and guess the answers to the previous set of questions, then they listen to Silvia talking about her night and check their answers.
