The challenge
You use WinCC as your visualization system and would like to connect SIMATIC S5, SIMADYN D, SICOMP or SIMATIC TDC programmable controllers to it. You use COROS LS-B as your visualization system and would like to replace it with WinCC. The following PMC functions are supported: Read The PLC is prompted by means of a PMCREAD request message frame to send data to WinCC. WinCC responds to this request automatically, and if necessary cyclically. Write The PLC is prompted by means of a PMCWRITE request message frame to accept data from WinCC. Alarms The PLC forwards process controlled messages to WinCC. It differentiates between process messages and system messages. Messages are stamped in the PLC with the time of their occurrence. Short-term archiving Process values with a very short cycle time can be recorded in the PLC and stored block by block in the WinCC trend archive. Link monitoring The data link between WinCC and the PLC can be monitored by means of a sign-of-life Status messages (SIMATIC S5 only) Status messages are converted to WinCC tags that can be directly switched to the group display. Clock synchronization (SIMATIC S5 only) Either WinCC or the PLC can be used as the time-of-day master to synchronize the link device. Time assimilation of time stamps between PLC and SIMATIC WinCC (alarms, archiv data, clock time telegram).
