Working with Graphics Creating Drawing in Word 2003 -DRAWING BUTTON - Click on the Drawing Button in the Standard

Toolbar to display the Drawing Toolbar in your screen. ***You can also display your drawing toolbar by Clicking on the View Menu, then select Toolbars, after which click on Drawing. THE DRAWING TOOLBAR

2007 INSERT MENU 1. Click the Insert Menu 2. From the Ribbon choose what illustration you wish to insert.

FOR 2003 &2007 To Create a Shape 1. Click on your desired button on the Drawing Toolbar/ Ribbon. 2. Click & Drag to create the desired shape. *** To make a COPY of the drawing object, hold down CTRL as you drag the drawing object. To Change the Size of a Drawing 1. Click the drawing object to be changed. To select additional object to edit at the same time, hold down the SHIFT key and click each additional object. Each object will be surrounded by eight small circles which are called handles. 2. To change the size of the selected objects, point to a handle (the pointer will appear as a two headed arrow ) and drag the handle in or out.

To Move a Drawing 1. Click the drawing object to be moved. To select additional objects to be moved at the same time, hold down the SHIFT key and then click each additional object. 2. To move selected objects, point to an area within the area surrounded by the handles, then click and drag the objects to the desired new location. Grouping the Drawing Several drawing objects can be grouped into one object to make editing easier. 1. Select the objects to be grouped. - Click on the object, to select additional objects, hold down the SHIFT key and click on each additional object. 2. Once you are done selecting the object to be grouped into one, right click and select Grouping then Group.

To Change the Order of the Object 1. Click on the object to be reordered. 2. Right-click the drawing object. 3. Click Order, then click the desired position of the drawing object. Additional Topics Securing Your Files
One way to protect your MS Word file from unauthorized access is by saving them with a password. You can do this by performing the following steps: 1. Click File, Select Save As then a similar dialog box appears as shown below.

2. Click Tools, then select security options. Another dialog box appears that will look like the one shown below.

3. Enter your password in the blank fields provided, then click on OK


4. Two succeeding dialog boxes will appear, just re-enter the same password to confirm. NOTE: The passwords you set must be the same as the ones you entered in the previous step.

Creating a Hyperlink A Hyperlink is a piece of text or graphics in a document that allows you to jump to a location within the current document.

Smiley STEPS: 1. Right click on the text or image that will lead you to the file you want to jump to. Then select Hyperlink.

2. Specify the location where the file you want to jump to is saved. Select the specific file. Then
