1.0 Introduction
Computer networking is the engineering discipline concerned with communication between computer systems or devices. Networking, routers, routing protocols and networking over the public Internet have their specifications defined in documents called RFCs computer networking is sometimes considered a sub discipline of telecommunications, computer science, information technology and/or computer engineering. Computer networks rely heavily upon theoretical and practical application of these scientific and engineering disciplines. All networks are interconnected to allow communication with a variety of different kinds of media including twisted-pair copper wire cable, coaxial cable, optical fibre, power lines and various wireless technology.

3 2.0 Mobile computing


Mobile computing is a generic term describing one's ability to use technology while moving, as opposed to portable computers, which are only practical for use while deployed in a stationary configuration. Motorola RAZR MAXX

3.0 Internet technology and Services 3.1 VoIP


VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) is referred as the transmission of voice traffic over IP-based networks. There are three ways to connect to a VoIP network which is by using a VoIP telephone, using a normal telephone with a VoIP adapter and using a computer with speakers and a microphone.

3.2 BLOG
A blog (a contraction of the term "web log") is a type of website, usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order.

4.0 Types of network 4.1 PAN


A personal area network (PAN) is the interconnection of information technology devices within the range of an individual person, typically within a range of 10 meters. For example, a person traveling with a laptop, a personal digital assistant (PDA), and a portable printer could interconnect them without having to plug anything in, using some form of wireless technology. Typically, this kind of personal area network could also be interconnected without wires to the Internet or other networks. Wireless personal area network (WPAN) which is virtually a synonym since almost any personal area network would need to function wirelessly. Conceptually, the difference between a PAN and a wireless LAN is that the former tends to be centered around one person while the latter is a local area network (LAN) that is connected without wires and serving multiple users. 4.2 VPN Virtual Private Network is a network that is constructed by using public wires to connect nodes. For example, there are a number of systems that enable you to create networks using the Internet as the medium for transporting data. These systems use encryption and other security mechanisms to ensure that only authorized users can access the network and that the data cannot be intercepted. 4.2 WLAN Wireless Local Area Network is a type of local area network that uses high-frequency radio waves rather than wires to communicate between nodes.

4.4 WiMAX
WiMAX is a wireless digital communications system that is intended for wireless "metropolitan area networks". WiMAX can provide broadband wireless access (BWA) up to 30 miles (50 km) for fixed stations, and 3 - 10 miles (5 - 15 km) for mobile stations. In contrast, the WiFi/802.11 wireless local area network standard is limited in most cases to only 100 - 300 feet (30 - 100m).

5.0 Conclusion
Communication can now go across borders with a fast speed and low cost because of the continuity of development of networks. Many networks and communication products are invented and upgraded to get a better usage and functions.
