Two guests from FCD (Freedom from Chemical Dependency) will be here this week as part of our health and wellness program. On Monday grade 5 and grade 6 students will meet with an FCD counselor in the FAT during first period; please report to class first for attendance and your teacher will escort you to the FAT. Grade 7 students will meet with an FCD counselor during a grade level assembly on Wednesday. Grade 8 students will have two sessions during the week with an FCD counselor. Be sure to listen carefully to their important message and ask any questions you may have. Another visitor, Carl Anderson, will also be on campus and you may see him in your English classes. He will be talking with teachers and students about writing and ways to become a more confident writer. Please welcome all of our guests to ISM and help them to feel a part of our fantastic community. There is a Service Learning Trip to PCF this Saturday, September 15. You can sign up with Ms. Grace in the MS Office. Are there any trivia experts out there? Why not go to the Academic Bowl practice sessions? This Friday, after school, our HS Volleyball teams travel down the Sth Super to play Brent, on Saturday Brent are hosting the 3rd Cross Country race of the season with our MS/HS teams competing and race results will be posted on the ATAC blog next week when they are received from Brent. Our MS Chess and Table Tennis teams will also be playing a tournament at Brent on Saturday. Next weekend, September 14-16, our Varsity Cross Country/Volleyball and Girls Soccer team will be traveling to Taipei for the Pre-IASAS exchange. IASAS venues for the Season one championships on October 10-14 are - Soccer in Bangkok, Volleyball/Cross Country in Kuala Lumpur. The All year round program for Sailfish, Tae Kwon Do, Judo, Aikido, Table Tennis, Chess, Gymnastics and Wall Climbing is now in full swing. Students can join our all year round teams at any time, just go and talk with the coaches at the venues after school if you are interested. A great way to stay in touch with the ISM ATAC program is to subscribe via RSS feed to the ATAC blog and also to follow via twitter (see twitter feed on the blog home page). Each Monday, I will post the weeks happenings and highlight important events for students and parents information on the ATAC blog and in the regular Friday parent bulletins. GAME SCHEDULE PDF: (access to game schedule information) Information about all mid-week/weekend fixtures for ISM teams can be found via the ATAC blog. Please note the game schedule does change often due to involvement with many local schools so please check the page regularly to find out the latest information of where and when the Bearcats teams are playing. You will need your PowerSchool username and password to access the game schedule. HS Student registration for ATAC activities: (new for school year 12-13) A Google doc registration is now available for all HS students who will take part in any ATAC seasonal sports teams, MUN and Cultural Convention programs. Please take the time to complete this online registration for activities that you plan on joining this school year. Middle School Academic Bowl Practice Sessions
Do you know lots of interesting facts and general knowledge? Are you fast on the buzzers? Do you like Are you Smarter than a 5th Grader? THEN COME TO Academic Bowl Practice Sessions!! Practice sessions will take place in room P046 (Mrs. Birchenalls classroom) every Tuesday starting 11th September 2.30 3:30 P.M. Successful students will represent ISM at the next Academic Bowl competition which is to be held at Faith Academy on the 6th November 2012. Manila Polo Club
McKinley Rd, Makati
The BEARCAT BOWLING BONANZA for all new Grade 7 & 8 students will be held at the Manila Polo Club on McKinley Road in Makati on Friday, September 14 starting at 5:00 P.M. and ending approximately at 7:00 P.M. School buses will leave campus from the Middle School Pick-up Area at 4:45 P.M. and take us directly to the Polo Club. You can pick up your son/daughter at the Polo Club promptly at 7pm. If you have not picked up your child by 7:30 P.M., we will transfer them to the ISM campus and you can pick up your child in the Security Office. Please wear rubber-soled tennis shoes or socks to the bowling alley as shoe rentals will not be available. If you would like your child to participate, they will need to pay 500 Pesos for games and the food. As per the school policy, we kindly ask that you or your child make a payment of 500 pesos to the Cashiers Office and then bring the permission slip to the MS Guidance area. Please complete both of these requirements by 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 12. Hope you can join us for a striking good time!
