Case Study Guide Line

Students will be divided into groups to complete a case study and presentation. Each group must obtain approval for their topic from the instructor. Group members will jointly write a case study paper and individually present without exceptions. The presentation will be individually assessed while the paper is a group project graded with one letter grade. Students who skip their scheduled presentation will receive zero points. The case studies should examine either external factors affecting teaching/learning or in-class issues. The paper must follow a specific format and be between 5-20 pages to receive full marks, with points deducted for each late day. Plagiarism will be severely punished and sources must be properly cited.

APPLICATION OF EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY EDU 572 Case study and presentation guidelines

Students will be divided into groups. Each group is required to come up with a written assignment and also a presentation based on the topic. All group members will be asked to present without any exceptions. Presentation will be individually assessed while the written assignment as group project (one letter grade for the group members). A student who skips his/her presentation when it is due will get zero for his/her presentation point. 1. 2. 3. The case studies for EDU 550 look into either external factors affecting teaching and/or learning or in-class related issues. Students need to obtain the instructors approval for the topic prior to writing/embarking on the intended area(s). All case studies must be written in English unless approved otherwise. Each case study out to have the following: a. Introduction i. What is it that you intend to write/research on ii. The current scenario of the topic iii. Purpose and objective of study i. Were there any previous research carried out on your topic? ii. What were the research findings? iii. If you are carrying out a mini research of your own, which theory are you using as the basis of your research? c. Methodology section i. Method used ii. Sampling iii. Limitation(s) Analysis of Data (results) and Discussion i. Result presentation ii. Discussion based on data analyzed or iii. Arguments on the various literatures reviewed Conclusion and Recommendation i. Summary of paper and/or ii. Highlight possible future research and/or iii. Recommendations that can be taken by various parties References

The end-product should be in the following format: a. Typed (not hand-written); single spaced; comb binding or neatly stapled. b. Font size 12 New Times Roman. c. Not more than twenty (20) pages in length (with appendices and references) but no less than (5) pages. d. Use only plain white A4 paper. Do not use any fancy papers. e. Include a cover page containing TITLE OF PAPER, NAME (SID), GROUP (i.e. ED220 U4A) Five (5) points will be deducted for each day you are late from the total mark received for the paper. Any plagiarism will be severely punished. Make sure you cite ideas/sentences taken form other sources.
