Advanced Solar Array Simulator
Advanced Solar Array Simulator
Abstract
Advanced Solar Array Simulator simulates the Onboard Solar String Characteristics with an improved switching response for switching frequencies from 0-100KHz. The aim of the project is to implement the Control and Monitor functions, by developing the software for the microcontroller based (ADuC7026) digital interface card of Advanced Solar Array Simulator (SAS). The embedded software is modular, generalized and hence is project independent. The digital interface card performs all the control and monitoring functions of Advanced Solar Array Simulator. It monitors the relay ON/OFF, over current protection, over voltage protection & over temperature protection status, measures the analog Voltages & Currents at various critical locations in the unit. It provides programmable DAC voltage setting for reference generation of switched mode current source for varying Isc(short current) values of the unit. It also provides remote interface on RS485 bus to SCOS Controller for Automated checkout operations.
