2 Stage FM

This document summarizes a student project submission for a two stage FM transmitter circuit. The circuit uses an electret microphone to pick up audio, which is amplified by a first transistor stage. This modulated signal is then used to vary the resonant frequency of a tank circuit connected to a second transistor operating as a Hartley oscillator. A third transistor amplifies the output RF signal, which is transmitted using an antenna. The document lists the components used in the circuit and provides a circuit diagram.

Two Stage FM Transmitter

IntroductionThe circuit is basically a radio frequency oscillator that operates around 100 MHz . Audio picked up and amplifier by the electric microphone is fed into the audio amplifier stage built around the first transistor. Output from the collector is fed into the base of the second transistor where it modulates the resonant frequency of the tank circuit (L1 coil and the red trimcap) by varying the junction capacitance of the transistor. Junctioncapacitance is a function of the potential differenceapplied to the base of the transistor T2. The tank circuit is connected in a Hartley oscillator circuit. The final stage built around T3 amplifies the output RF signal. Circuit diagram-
