There will be an online technical test on UNIX tomorrow from 10:30 AM to 12 PM. The test will use an adaptive testing methodology to select questions of an appropriate difficulty level based on previous responses. Questions will be randomly selected from pools of questions at different difficulty levels within each sub-topic. Participants will be allowed to select up to three answers out of five possible answers for each question, and the test time is fixed, ending at the stipulated time regardless of completion. Keyboard use is prohibited during the test.

Dear All, There will be an Online Technical Test on UNIX tomorrow Mar 8, 2012 from 10.30 AM to 12 PM.

I will be providing the link and login credentials tomorrow. The rules for assessments are as follows: 1. Adaptive Testing - Adaptive testing methodology selects questions with a specific level of difficulty based on the assessment-takers previous responses. The adaptive testing engine adapts the question selection process according to the assessment-takers abilities, eliminating questions that are too easy or too difficult for the assessment-taker. No negative marking.

2. Random Question Selection - Once the adaptive testing engine has evaluated the assessment-takers prior response and determined the appropriate level of difficulty for the next question, a follow up question with the desired degree of difficulty is randomly selected from a pool of available questions at that difficulty level. 3. Degree of Difficulty of Questions - Provides greater insight into knowledge levels than a simple correct / incorrect assessment, also provides greater scope to demonstrate knowledge. It also eliminates influence of guessing. 4. Sub-topic Assessment - Each discipline into 12-18 sub-topics reflects varying tasks that collectively cover the key aspects of the discipline. Each sub-topic contains its own pool of questions at all the difficulty levels, allowing the adaptive methodology to be employed independently within each sub-topic. 5. Multiple Correct Responses - Each question has five possible answers, of which up to three can be correct. The assessmenttaker is never told how many correct answers there are to any given question, but they are allowed to select up to three answers. By enabling the selection of up to three answers out of the five provided, there are actually 25 unique answer combinations to every question. 6. Fixed Time Duration Once the exam is started it will end at stipulated time irrespective of whether the participant has completed the test or not. 7. Usage of Keyboard Usage of Keyboard is not allowed during the course of assessment, any usage of the keyboard would abruptly end the assessment.
