Story Structure and Theme

(Characters, Setting, Plot, Problem/Solution, Sequencing, and Theme)


Directions: Choose 3 activities to complete. The middle BOLD activity is required. You may choose 2 other activities that make Tic-Tac-Toe.

Create a comic strip sequencing the most important events in Song and Dance Man OR An Angel for Solomon Singer.

Illustrate the settings from both stories on a sheet of white paper. Include a summary of why each setting is important to the theme of the book on the back.

Write one diary entry from the point of view of Grandpa OR Solomon Singer.

Using a Venn Diagram, compare and contrast Grandpa and Solomon Singer.

Write a letter to a friend explain the theme (lesson) you learned from Song and Dance Man OR An Angel for Solomon Singer. (required)
