Book 19-21

Patroclus was killed by Hector, causing Achilles to seek revenge against the Trojans. Achilles rallied the Achaeans for battle against Troy to repay Hector for Patroclus's death. Odysseus tried to convince Achilles to eat to regain his strength, but Achilles refused until he killed Hector. In battle, Achilles slew many Trojans but was opposed by the River God, until Hephaestus used fire to boil the river away. Achilles continued fighting but was opposed by Apollo, who fought on the Trojans' behalf.
