lndependent Reading Project


Students will select and read a book of their choosing for an lndependent Reading Project. Projects will reflect an understanding of the book and literary elements used in the book. Students may choose which project they would like to complete, but each project may only be used once per year.

PROJECT OPTIONS:

1. Comic Book/Story Board


Create a comic book or story board covering the major plot of the book. Be sure to include
scenes from the beginning, middle, and end of the book that helps readers understand the

major plotlines. lt needs to be a condensed version of the book, which is engaging and makes sense to others, even if they have not read the book themselves. You must have at least 6 pages and 24 frames. Each frame must have a minimum of one sentence of text. ln addition, you must write one page explaining your comic book and major themes of the story.

Minimum: 6 pages, 24 frames, 24 sentences, 1 page explanation

2.)BookJacket Design an original book jacket for your book. lt should include the following: a+t--over artshould reflect themes and syryblls in the book.
