CODE OF CONDUCT

Preamble

The Student Code oI Conduct prescribes standards Ior the conduct oI students on and oII the
campus (disorderly/disruptive conduct, drug sale, ragging and any activity oII-campus that is
considered an act oI violence to oneselI or another). Many oI these regulations are similar to
National Laws; thereIore, a violation oI the Student Conduct Code may concurrently represent a
violation oI the law. Civil or criminal action beIore or aIter Institute action shall in no way alter
the Institute proceedings or Iindings, nor provide any right to immunity Irom Institute
jurisdiction.
Generally, the Institute`s jurisdiction Ior addressing student misconduct is applied to incidents
that occur on campus property and at Institute sponsored events and activities. The Institute may
also exercise its right to impose disciplinary charges on students and student organizations Ior
inappropriate behaviour that occur oII-campus iI such behaviour violated the national law and/or
is deemed as a possibly adversely aIIecting or endangering (a) the Institute community or (b) the
interests or mission oI the Institute.
Behaviour causing serious personal endangerment, such as abuse oI alcohol or other drugs, may
subject a student to immediate suspension prior to a hearing.

$9:/en9 Responsibili9ies

All student members oI the Institute community have certain responsibilities to the institution
and to its members. These include
O #espect Ior the rights oI others, which includes the obligation to reIrain Irom conduct that
violates or adversely aIIects the rights oI other members oI the Intitute community.
O The obligation to reIrain Irom interIering with the Ireedom oI expression oI others.
O The responsibility Ior the avoidance oI Iorce, violence, threat or harassment.
O The responsibility Ior the avoidance oI disruption. Certain kinds oI conduct can convert
the expression oI opinion into disruption
O The responsibility Ior the compliance with provincial, national and municipal laws and
regulations. Student members oI the Institute community must be aware that they
continue to be subject to the obligations oI all citizens while they attend the Institute. The
Institute is committed to the observance oI the laws. There is no immunity on its campus
Irom the prohibitions oI local, provincial, and national law regulating the use oI drugs,
alcohol, or motor vehicles. Violations oI the law in the surrounding community injure the
Institute, just as it does other citizens who reside there. The Institute oIIers no tolerance
Ior any such conduct.
O The obligation to ensure that the conduct oI others who come to the Institute through a
student`s invitation or permission complies with the rules and regulations oI the Institute.
O The obligation to respect the environment oI Institute, which includes respect Ior the
physical Ieatures oI the campus and its Iacilities, and the special needs oI an institution oI
learning, such as quiet and privacy.
O The obligation to provide proper identiIication whenever requested to do so by a
representative oI the Institute.
O The responsibility to cooperate with Institute oIIicials in the perIormance oI their duties.
O The responsibility to respect the values and traditions oI the Institute as an institution oI
higher education.

In all atmospheres and environments students oI Institute commit to upholding the
acclaimed and excellent reputation oI Institute, its lecturers, staII and students. Institute is
proud to have an National reputation oI an Institute that educates students in all India`s
centre s according to the highest International, proIessional standards.

Students are expected to read through the Student code oI conduct` to Iamiliarize

themselves with the various rules and expectations oI each student. This code oI conduct
is one oI the very many measures Institute has in place to ensure the excellent reputation
oI the Institute oI preserved.

Lec9:rers an/ ns9i9:9e $9aff

Students are requested to keep a proIessional attitude at all times towards Institute staII. At
Institute we groom people oI various nationalities, ages and previous experiences into the much
sought aIter graduates oI our acclaimed Institute. Our students and graduates will be noticeable
Ior their proIessional behaviour and conduct.

Please Iind here the Iollowing rules regarding Lecturers and staII:
O Students are requested to act proIessionally towards lecturers by simply asking them
when they need attention or by raising their hands until the lecturer has seen them. The
lecturer will attend to each student as soon as they get a chance.
O Though the Director, accounting oIIicer and other managerial staII will make as much
time available Ior students as possible, there may be times when students need to make an
appointment to see these staII members.
O Students are not allowed in the staII room or stock room.

Fellow $9:/en9s

O Students are asked to keep a proIessional attitude towards Iellow students at all times.
O No Iighting oI any kind will be tolerated.
O No discrimination oI any kind will be tolerated and may result in expulsion iI proven.
O No inappropriate behaviour oI any kind will be tolerated. Any behaviour that distracts or
disrupts other students is deemed inappropriate.
O Students are requested not to engage in any sexual activities on Institute premises.

Premises an/ Facili9ies
Institute is proud to oIIer very expensive, cutting edge technology and Iacilities Ior student use.
The Iollowing rules and conditions apply:

Recep9ion
O Students are not allowed to loiter in the reception area.
O Students are not allowed to tamper with the sound system.
a9rooms
O Bathrooms are to be kept in a clean and tidy condition.
O No loud noise or loitering in the bathrooms is allowed as this may disturb other students
or tenants.

Conference Hall
O Students are only permitted to make use oI the conIerence hall during break times, beIore
and aIter lecture sessions.
O No loud noise is permitted in the conIerence room as this may disturb other students or
staII members.
O ConIerence room belonging must remain here.
O ConIerence room must remain clean and tidy.


Reso:rce Cen9re
O Books in the Institute resource centre are Ior reIerence only and may not be taken home
with the students. Student may obtain the codes Ior the online resource centre resource
to source books and inIormation Irom home.
O Students wishing to use books Irom the resource that librarian or staII member is aware
oI this beIore being allowed to do so.
O Any student that damages or loses a book will be liable Ior replacing it.
O Students are not allowed to make notes or sketches in any oI the books.
O Students may not tear pages Irom any book or magazine belonging to Institute.
Timings:
O Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 8 pm hrs
O Saturday, Sunday & Holiday`s 11.00 am to 5.00 pm

O Students are not permitted to play games on the computers.
O Students are not permitted to surI the internet Ior pornography or oIIensive material.
O Students are allowed to check personal emails.
O Students may not open any Iiles, programs or Iolders belonging to the Institute or other
students that utilise the computer.
O No Iormatting, deleting, downloading or upgrading is permitted.
O Any Iaulty equipment must be reported to the lecturer immediately.
O Any student Iound responsible Ior damaging any equipment will be expected to replace
the item.
O Students are not permitted to remove CD`s, soItware or any other equipment belonging
to Institute Irom the Institute premises.
O In accordance with International law students may not copy any soItware.
O Any theIt that is proven will result in immediate expulsion Irom the course and
termination oI the student Institute contract without any reIunds owing to the account
payer whatsoever.
$9ock room
O Students are not permitted in the stock room.

$9aff offices
O Students are not allowed in staII oIIices unless a staII member is present.



Hos9el R:les

O Hostel admissions are on merit basis as per the rules and students have to pay Iees as
per revised rules.

O Hostel admission is applicable Ior one academic year only and solely dependent on the
student`s perIormance.
O ater taps. and baths should be turned oII aIter use. A penalty oI #s.200/ will be
imposed on the deIaulters. ater and electricity should be used economically.
O Use oI electrical appliances e.g. Heater, rod, stove, kettle, iron, hot plate etc. Is
strictly prohibited. DeIaulters will be levied heavy Iine iI Iound using such appliances
and will be liable Ior dismissal Irom the hostel.
O Al l lights and Ians will be switched oII beIore leaving the room, Iailing which he/she
will be Iined #s. 200 per incident.
O There will be a hostel committee oI Iour students who will report to the hostel -in-
charge and be responsible Ior day- to-day working oI the hostel , Mess and
housekeeping.
O It is expected that all students treat the hostel as a home away Irom their own and
keep it clean and maintain all the time.
O Locks are provided Ior every room oI hostels/ Ilats. One key per occupant will be
issued to every student i .e. Two keys per room (in case oI double occupancy) . The
third key will be with the hostels- in-charge. Penalty Ior a lost key will be charged
#s. 300/ - per key
O Use oI bathrooms should be made with mutual understanding;
Following a time schedule & no complaints in this regard will be entertained.
O Students are expected not to keep any valuable items/belongings in the Hostel
,Management will not be responsible Ior the loss oI any personal belongings.
O In case oI damages/ Iailure oI any system or appliance or property ( including
iFiAccess points) due to misuse, rough handling and negligence etc. , the restoring/
repair expenses with penalty will be recovered Irom the concerned occupants.
O In case oI common things like T. V. , Telephone, Cooler, Pots, etc. , charges will
be recovered Irom all the occupants oI the hostel .
O No visitors are allowed aIter 8:00 pm.
O Students can avail oI the guest accommodation Iacility Ior parents/relatives (executive
hostel) with the prior permission Irom Admin (depending upon availability).
Prescribed room charges per head shall have to be paid.
O Students should take care to avoid dents, scratches, etc. on the steel /wooden Iurniture.
O The right to admit or cancel hostel admission and to Irame new rules, iI
required, is reserved with the authority to maintain peaceIul, secure, and a healthy
atmosphere in the hostel premises.
O Girls staying in Ilats are not allowed to come out in night hours aIter attendance
signature is taken by the security Guard/warden.
O Girls hostel area is strictly out oI bound Ior boys.
O Any student studying is not to be disturbed; also students studying late hours must not
disturb others. Complaints to this eIIect will be viewed very seriously.
O Consuming alcohol /smoking is strictly prohibited in the campus including
O II anybody is Iound in inIringement oI security guard instructions, misbehaving in
the hostel premises or Institute premises on road and indulging in spurious activities
likely to damage the image oI the

Institute shall be punished.

Discipline
Hos9el Timings:
O Boys & Girls: Up to 9.30 pm Irom Monday to Friday
O Up to 11.00 pm on Saturday & Sunday
O Note: Girl`s hostel shall be locked aIter the above hostel timing, aIter taking the
signatures oI the students by the security Guard/ arden.
O Hostelries should take prior permission Irom the #ector /arden Ior returning to
the Hostel aIter hostel timing that also, under special and justiIied circumstances.
O The students will make the entry in register while going out and coming in.
O There should not be loud shouting, whistling, dancing, etc. Particularly at nights.
O The security guards or supervisor /warden or his assistant /Head/Mentor have been
allowed to inspect the hostel at will . There should be no arguments with them on
such visits.
O Students Iound jumping through windows in academic/hostel area will be dealt with
seriously.

Leave
O Student have to give Iax or letter which is written by their Parents/Guardian Ior asking
leave and have t mention time and days.

ANT -RAGGNG
O #agging within or outside oI any educational institution is strictly prohibited.
hosoever directly or indirectly commits, participates in, abets or propagates ragging
within or outside any educational institution shall on conviction, be punished.
O Any student convicted oI an oIIence oI ragging shall be dismissed Irom the
institution and such student shall not be admitted to any other educational institution Ior
a period oI Iive years Irom the date oI order oI such dismissal .
O henever any student or as the case may be, the parent or guardian or a teacher
oI an educational inst i tut ion complains, in writing, oI ragging to the head oI
the educational institution, the head oI the educational institution shall, without
prejudice to the Ioregoing provisions, within seven days oI the receipt oI the
complaint enquire into the matter mentioned in the complaint and iI , prima Iacie,
it is Iound true, suspend the student who is accused oI the oI Ience, and shall ,
immediately Iorward the complaint to the police stat ion having jurisdiction over
the area in which the educational inst i tut ion is situated, Ior Iurther action.
