The National Accelerated Agricultural Inputs Access Program (NAAIAP) is a Kenyan government intervention to increase farm input use among smallholder farmers. It has two components: Kilimo Plus which provides seeds and fertilizers to poor maize farmers on 1 hectare or less, and Kilimo Biashara which provides subsidized credit for inputs through partnerships with banks and other organizations. Over 400,000 vulnerable farmers have benefited from inputs through Kilimo Plus, increasing their productivity significantly. More than 41,000 farmers have accessed over 1.8 billion KSH of agricultural credit through Kilimo Biashara loans. The program is entirely run by Kenyan government staff and has an annual budget of over 1 billion KSH.
