Short Film Vs Mainstream: Click To Edit Master Subtitle Style

Short film posters typically feature still shots from the film and have a simple, basic design with bold text on a satin background. Mainstream movie posters, in contrast, showcase airbrushed, high-quality pictures of glamorous actresses and use complex, multi-font text along with conventional design elements to emphasize stars and suggest themes like a "Love Triangle" in order to attract audiences.

Short Film Posters

The pictures on posters from short film productions are often still shots from the film as the examples Im Here and Across The Hall clearly state. Short movie posters are also generally very simple and basic with the satin colour being frequently used. The writing used on them is also simple and bold to stand out. 4/18/12

Mainstream Posters
You can clearly tell that this is the Across The Hall mainstream poster due to a number of reasons. The pictures are very clear and have been airbrushed to achieve the highest standard of finishes. The actresses used are also normally shown to be very glamorous to attract a male audience. The text is more complex with a number of different style fonts used. The stars are emphasised in a way maybe suggesting a Love Triangle. The poster also follows the conventional poster style.
