1 Installation
The user is advised to go through this chapter. This chapter provides general instructions on how to install the application to your computer.

CHAPTER1INSTALLATION

1.1 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS The LMS Diskette Project v2.0 application program is designed specifically for Windows XP/2000/Millenium edition using the WIN32 API to allow GUI environment. To function properly, the program must be installed on a system that includes the following hardware and software components (minimum): 166 MHZ Pentium IV or equivalent 128 MB memory 4 MB extra hard disk space VGA Display Windows XP/2000/Millenium Edition 1.44 MB Floppy Disk Drive 1.2 INSTALLAT ION GUIDE LMS Diskette Project v2.0 setup is provided on 4 floppy disks or CD-ROM or bundled "Package" directory which can be distributed through the network. This is also available from the SSS official website. The installation follows the standard Windows procedure. To install: 1. Insert the CD or Floppy Disk1, or get/map a copy of the installation package from the SSS website. 2. From the Start Menu. Select Run:

3. The Run Popup Window appears. Type the drive letter and SETUP or Browse and select SETUP from the package directory of files. Click the "OK" button.

4. The LMS Tape Diskette Project v3.0 Setup program will display the Installation/Welcome dialog box. Follow the instructions then click the "OK" button.

5. Enter the Destination Drive and Directory by clicking on the "Change Directory" button from the dialog box. The default drive and directory is "c:\Program Files\SSS LMS". Click the Install button to continue the installation.

6. Enter a New Group (default is SSS_LMS) or Select the desired Program Group from the existing group lists and click the "Continue" button.

7. When the installation dialog displays the message "SSS LMS Setup was completed successfully." Click the "OK" button.

8. A shortcut is automatically created to the windows program list.

9. The installation is complete. 10. There may be cases that during the installation an error would occur. Just click the "Retry" or "Ignore" button to proceed. Then click on "Yes" button. Cases like this happens when other applications are open and using the same resource files that are being installed during the setup.
