1. What is the medical condition? The name of the medical condition is Tuberculosis. 2. How long has it been around? . It has been around for a very long time. 3. Where was the first case identified? The earliest known case was in Britain. From the skeleton of an Iron Age man from 300 B.C. 4. What gender, age, and ethnic group is more likely to have this condition? The people that are most likely to have this condition are small children and teens. 5. Is the condition curable? This condition is curable. 6. How is the condition managed? The way it is managed is through pills and medication. 7. How does the medical condition impact a person life in the following areas: short term (1day-1year), long term (2years and up), physical, mental, eating, emotional, and financial? In some cases it does not affect short time life because it can stay dormant for a long time. In other cases the bacteria starts to multiply and destroy tissue. In some cases it will start affecting long term life by multiplying and eating tissue, if it does not stay dormant. It can affect physical health by striking the lungs or other organs. This can cause the patient to feel short of breath and/or feel chest pains. Tuberculosis can effect emotional life by bringing it patient much worry and sorrow because it can be fatal.
