EVALUATI ON

Generic: gentamicin sulfate Brand name: garamycin

antiinfective; aminoglycoside antibiotic

Broad-spectrum aminoglycoside antibiotic derived from Micromonosporapurpur ea. Action is usually bacteriocidal

1.5 to 2 mg/kg loading dose, followed by 1 to 1.7 mg/kg IV or IM every 8 hours or 5 to 7 mg/kg IV q 24 hours.

Parenteral use restricted to treatment of serious infections of GI, respiratory, and urinary tracts, CNS, bone, skin, and soft tissue (including burns) when other less toxic antimicrobial agents are ineffective or are contraindicated

The patient was able to take the drug in right dosage, route and frequency without any adverse reactions.
