Method Statement Generator

Prior to starting the generator, checks should be performed to ensure it is safe and ready. The generator earthing, cables, engine, and alternator should be visually inspected for issues. The fuel tank, engine oil, radiator water, air filter, battery, and circuit breakers should be checked and refilled if needed. The area around the generator must be clear to allow air flow before starting.

1 Prior to pre commissioning activity


Check generator earthing should be proper earthed . Check power and control cable termination. Make general visual inspection on the engine and alternator. Check if there any breakage , crack , indentation , leakage or looseness. Take our foreign material such as keys, tools, cleaning wool, paner etc. Check the fuel level in the dark tank. Refil with fuel if it low . Check engine oil level on the dip stick, Refill with fuel if it is low. Look at the water level by opening the radiator tap. If it is inadequate add more water. Inspect the radiator air outlet hood, Open if clogged and clear away all obstruction in front of air outlet . Check air filter gauge . Clean or replace the air filter If necessary. Keep the inlet opening open . Make sure that the generating set can take easily air from environment. Check battery connection ,Tight if found any loss . Open the battery cap and check the liquid level in the cells . Check circuit breaker outlet switch is in off position . Make Sure that emergency pushbutton is not pressed . Starting the generation will be performing by commissioning assistant .
