Metal Furring System

The furring ceiling system uses a suspended metal grid to support one or two layers of plasterboard and provide a smooth, decorated ceiling. The key components are furring channels, main channels, plasterboard, angles, brackets, and wire clips. Furring channels are fixed at maximum 600mm or 450mm centers to the main channels, which have maximum 1200mm centers. Plasterboard is attached to furring channels with screws, and wire clips connect furring and main channels at intersections. Suspended hangers support the grid at least every 1200mm.
