Sensors
Sensors
1) Labview Controller:
- Have 8 analog input channels with input range (-10:+10 V).
- Have 2 analog output channels with input range (0:+5 V) and with output
current (5mA).
2) Sensors
- All sensors (pressure transmitter, level transmitter, flow meter) need power
supply with voltage range (+10 :36 VDC) and the electrical current
consumption isn’t exceed (300 mA) for any components.
We can find a power supply in the market will give these requirements, if we
can’t find it, I can make a power supply to give us these requirements ISA.
- All sensors (pressure transmitter, level transmitter, flow meter) have two
methods of connection one give output signal (4:20 mA) and the other give
output signal (0:10 V)
We will connect it in the second mode of connection to give us signal (0:10 V)
Then we can connect it directly to the Labview Controller analog input
channels.
- The flow meter have two output modes one (4:20 mA /0:10 V) and the second
is (pulses).
If we use the second mode (pulses) we will connect the flow meter to the
Labview Controller digital input channels, and we can obtain the flow rate by
using the Labview Controller counter and timer.
3) Control valve
- The control valve package contain (globe valve, pneumatic actuator, electro
pneumatic positioner, pressure regulator valve)
Pneumatic supply
- Pneumatic need air supply with pressure (1:6 bar), we can adapt the pressure
regulator valve to maintain supply pressure at constant pressure without
Depending on the compressor pressure.
We have a compressor at the fluid lab can give pressure up to 7 bar.
The maximum air consumption at steady state conditions is (0.4 Nm3/h)
Control instruments operation
Electrical supply
- The positioner needs power source with maximum current (150mA) and
maximum volt (30 VDC).
Electrical signal
- The positioner needs electrical signal (4: 20 mA),and the analog output of
Labview Controller is (5 mA).
- So we can’t connect the Labview Controller directly with the positioned, but
we connect them by using buffer or operational amplifier to amplify the
controller current.
