“Human Body Systems” End of Unit Assessment

Study Guide

For this assessment, students will have an option to take the test
with open notes or not. If a student chooses to use their open
notes and receives a high score, he or she will receive a
“Successful” grade on the test. If a student does not use open
notes and receives a high score, he or she will receive an
“Exceeds” grade on the test.

For this assessment, students should be able to:

• Identify the main task and most important part of each body

system (skeletal, muscular, circulatory, respiratory, nervous,

digestive)

• tell how many muscles are in the body

• tell how many bones an adult human has

• tell the three main functions of the muscular system

• tell which two body systems are responsible for support and

movement

• tell the names of the three types of muscles (cardiac….)

• tell vessels carry blood TO and AWAY from the heart

• tell the difference between a pivot and ball & socket joint
• tell 3 bone names, their common names, and a trick for

remembering each name

• describe with at least 4 details how the heart works

• list three important ways to take care of the body

• list the four parts of the central nervous system

• label a body diagram with 7 major organs
