1 Check client index databases:
nsrck –L3
2 Check media databases:
nsrim –X
3 NetWorker Server Bootstrap for security: Add all clients to the INDEXSAVE group to
save all client indexes:
savegrp –O –l full INDEXSAVE
4 Take the Bootstrap information:
mminfo –B (and get information from the last line)
( eg result : ssid=236527, file=159, record=0, volume=and 000098)
5 Umount tapes from tape devices:
nsrjb –vu
6 Get networker binaries from ftp site or cdrom
7 Stop NetWorker:
net stop nsrd
net stop nsrexecd
8 Copy NetWorker resource files:
copy /nsr/res /nsr/res.<date>
9 Add Upd ate Enabler code Update/8 (update after change from 6.x to 7.y)

10 Install NetWorker server and storage node(s):
Double-click setup.exe file located in the networker directory. Skip this step if autorun
started the installation automatically. The Setup program detects the existing installation
and automatically runs in update mode.
11 Start NetWorker server programs (normally started automatically)
net start nsrd
net start nsrexecd
12 Check index databases after upgrade:
nsrck –L3
13 Check media database after upgrade:
nsrim –X
14 Start administrative interface to check licenses registration (no expiration date)
nwadmin
15 Check autochanger/silo through mount/dismount of volume(s):
nsrjb –v –l –S <slot_number> [-f <device_name>]
nsrjb –vu [-f <device_name>]]
16 Backup tests on NetWorker server:
savegrp GroupName
savegrp –c ClientName GroupName
17 Recover tests (from backup performed in v6.x) on NetWorker server:
nwrecover

Select and mark files
Relocate option used
Start

nwrecover
