Answer any Two (2) of the following
2 X 5= 10 Marks
1. (a) A Dc voltage of 100V is applied in the circuit shown in figure and
the switch is kept open. The switch K is closed at t = 0. Find the complete expression for the current. [3 M]
(b) A Dc voltage of 20V is applied in a RL circuit where R = 5 and L
= 10H. Find (i). The Time Constant (ii). The Maximum value of stored Energy. [2M]
2. Three impedances of (7+j4), (3+j2) and (9+j2) are connected
between neutral and the R, Y and B phases. The line voltage is 440V, Calculate. (i). The line currents and (ii). The current in the neutral wire. (iii). Find the power consumed in each phase & total power drawn by the circuit. [5M]
3. A series RC circuit has following circuit parameters. R=1Ω, C=
1F.Determine the current when the switch is closed at a time corresponding to φ =0. Assume initial charge on the capacitor is Q0= 2 coulombs with upper plate has + Ve polarity. V= 50 Cos ( 50t+φ ). Consider AC transient. [5M]
4 (a) Find the expression for transformed current whose transfer
function is given by I(S)= 40S/(S+4)(S+1) using pole zero plot. [3M]
(b) For the given network find the Transformed impedance.
