Installing Windows 7 From USB Drive

To install Windows 7 from a USB drive, you need a 1GB or larger USB drive with the OS files from a DVD or ISO. Using the diskpart and bootsect commands in Command Prompt, you format the USB drive, assign it a drive letter, copy the installation files over, and make it bootable. Plug the drive into the target machine, change the BIOS boot order to the USB drive, and it can then be used to install Windows 7.
