An accelerometer is a device that measures proper acceleration, the acceleration experienced relative
to freefall.
PROPER ACCELERATION:
To obtain the acceleration due to motion with respect to the Earth, this "gravity offset" must be
subtracted.
GRAVITY OSSSET IS DUE TO the gravitational "force" as experienced locally while standing on a massive
body (such as the Earth) is actually the same as the pseudo-force experienced by an observer in a non-
inertial (accelerated) frame of reference.

An Inertial Navigation System (INS) is a navigation(MOVING AND CONTROLING) aid that uses a
computer and motion sensors (accelerometers) to continuously calculate via dead reckoning

determined position, or fix, and advancing that position based upon known or estimated speeds over
elapsed time, and course.)))))))))))))))
the position, orientation, and velocity (direction and speed of movement) of a moving object without
the need for external references. Other terms used to refer to inertial navigation systems or closely
related devices include inertial guidance system, inertial reference platform, and many other variations
