Input is all information put into a


computer. Input can be supplied
from a variety of sources:
A person
Another computer
A peripheral device

MOUSE
Mouse is a pointing device.
IT consists of two clicks and a scroll bar.
The mouse is used to open and close files,
and click on files, navigate web sites.
IT also used to click on a lot of commands to tell
the computer what to do.
KEYBOARD
 The keyboard is used to type text and numbers into a
word processor, text editor or other program.
 A keyboard is also used to give commands to the
operating system of a computer, such as Windows
Control-Alt-Delete.
 THE keyboard consists of 104 keys as a basic keys
and few more keys as multimedia keys.
JOYSTICK
Joysticks are often used to control video games,
and usually have one or more push-buttons.

 Joysticks are also used for controlling machines


such as cranes, trucks, underwater vehicles,
wheelchairs, cameras and mobile phones.
SCANNER
 An electronic device that generates a digital
representation of an image for data input to a
computer.
 A scanner works by digitizing an image.
 scanner works as both input as well as output
device.
 The first image scanner was invented 1997.
LIGHT PEN
 The first light pen was created around 1952.
 It allows the user to point to displayed objects, or
draw on the screen, in a similar way to a touch screen
but with greater positional accuracy.
