is pleased to announce
the First International Conference on

CENTRAL EUROPE AND


THE ENGLISH-SPEAKING WORLD
to be held between

13-14 April 2007


The conference organizers invite scholarly papers which investigate the interrelationships and
interactions between the countries and cultures of Central Europe and the English-Speaking
World in any walk of life including the arts and sciences, languages and literatures, history
and economics, politics and sociology. Besides celebrating the 6th anniversary of the
foundation of the Department of English at Partium Christian University as well as the
accession of Romania to the European Union, the conference is designed to bring together all
those scholars, students and experts whose main professional aim is to build an intellectual
bridge of better understanding between Central Europe and the English-Speaking countries.
Proposals for papers should be sent before 15 January 2007 electronically to the following
