A 2.4m high painted timber ply hoarding will be erected by JMR to the site
boundary area to be demolished, as detailed on the Site Plan. Included in
Hoarding will be 1 no: Vehicle Access Gates.
The Hoarding will be painted in accordance with the Clients specification and

CLIENT to isolate/ divert services at the boundary of our working area only prior to
site works to enable works to commence:
WATER: JMR to disconnect and Install temporary Standpipe.
GAS: TBC to disconnect
ELECTRIC: TBC to disconnect
DRAINAGE: JMR to seal at the boundary of site, all redundant underground
drainage to be removed.
All relevant disconnection certification to be issued to JMR prior to any
demolition works commencing.
JMR Site Supervisor will carry out site specific induction and ensure that all
operatives have read, understood and signed this statement.
Toolbox talks to be carried out by JMR Site Supervisor on a regular basis as required.
JMR Site Management to hold site meetings for all site personnel as required.
9. The debris generated will be allowed to fall onto the floor slab below and to prevent
excessive build up of debris overloading the floor it will periodically be
dragged/pulled off of the slab and onto the ground floor below by the Excavator
utilising the cracker attachment.
10.Periodically during the demolition process and when necessary the operator of the
Excavator will stop demolition. The Excavator will then process the arisings, sort,
stockpile then segregate the respective debris generated.
11.At the end of each shift the Demolition Site Supervisor will ensure that the remaining
structure and immediate working area is left in a safe, clean and structurally stable
condition.
12.Excavator will then be deployed to place arisings within suitable recycling containers
using a suitable grab attachment.
When the containers are full they will be removed from site in accordance with
JMR traffic management plan and disposed of in accordance with JMR Housekeeping
& Waste Strategy.
13.Throughout the process hoses with fine mist hand sprays will be located close to the
work area and used to dampen down the arisings prior to loading.
10
Removal of the Ground Floor Slab, Foundations, Ground Beams, and Pile Caps
In accordance with the following procedure:
14.Once the ground floor slab has been cleared of demolition debris it will allow the
ground floor slab, foundations, ground beams, pile caps and redundant drainage to
be broken out and removed.
15.20t/30t excavator fitted with impact breaker or bucket will then be used to break the
ground floor slab.
16.The slab once fully broken will be lifted by excavator fitted with bucket and
stockpiled adjacent to the footprint of the ground floor slab. The concrete debris will
be loaded onto a tipper lorry for removal form site when ready.
17.Once the ground floor slab has been cleared excavator with bucket will
systematically excavate and expose, ground beams, foundations or subsequent
pile caps and all redundant drainage.
18.The ground beams, foundations, pile caps and redundant drainage will then be
excavated and stockpiled adjacent to the footprint.
19.Excavator will then be deployed to place allowing concrete to be loaded onto Tipper
Lorries using a bucket grab attachment.
When the tipper Lorries are full they will be removed from site in accordance with
JMR traffic management plan and disposed of in accordance with JMR Housekeeping
& Waste Strategy.
20.The resultant void created by the removal of the sub-structure etc will be
progressively backfilled, levelled, graded and made safe using existing spoil.
21.Throughout the process hoses with fine mist hand sprays will be located close to the
work area and used to dampen down the arisings prior to loading.

Prior to commencing work on site, J Mould (Reading) will carry out a Waste Stream
Analysis to identify the type and quantity of waste material that will be generated.
Once the type and quantity of waste has been identified it will be possible to work
out the best options for its disposal. I.e. will this material be reused, recycled or, as
a last resort, be disposed of via a licensed landfill facility.
All relevant certificates and permits required for disposal accompany this document.
The various waste streams will be strictly monitored and waste haulage/transfer

Noise levels will be monitored during the course of the works. It is recognized that
noise cannot be eliminated entirely, but all reasonable steps will be taken to reduce
the impact of noise generated by these works. Previous works of this nature have
been carried out and the noise levels assessed and a table summary of these results
are shown below. The nature and capability of the plant selected to be used on this
scheme will be such as to generate the minimum of noise and emissions whilst of
sufficient size and capacity as to be capable of carrying out the tasks to within safe
tolerances of weight, reach and size. All JMR Plant and Machinery are fitted with
engines compliant with EU Stage 3 emission regulations. In addition all exhaust
gases are mixed with intake air to reduce particle matter (PM) and Nitrogen (NOx)
emissions.

A range of measures will be employed to minimize the creation and spread of dust
arising from this work.
All vehicles will be inspected and any dirt/debris removed before leaving site.
All Lorries and roll on/off bins will use cover sheets to prevent accidental spillages.
The method of demolition will include retention of outside walls for as long as
possible to assist in containing any arising dust to within the existing building
footprint.
Throughout the demolition, hoses with fine mist hand sprays will be located close to
the work area and used first to dampen down the area generally, then onto the
demolition arisings as works proceeds and also directed at any airborne dust
particles.
