Executive summary:
Hassan plas manufacturing, pet, PE bottles and
containers for pesticides, pharmacy, water and beverage industries. it is
located in township Lahore that is committed to provide good quality along
with customer satisfaction.
In our project we are
tried to tell you about all the aspect of supply chain processes of company.
We are tried to tell you about what strategies of supply chain management
they are using and how they can make their supply chain process more
efficient and effective. Which problems they are facing now and what action
plan they to adapt for the eradication of these problems.

Introduction:
A company manufacturing Pet, PE bottles & containers for pesticides,
pharmacy, water and beverages Industries. Hassan PLAS Packaging is a private business based
in Lahore that is committed to provide good quality along with customers satisfaction. We have
a large and entire range of PE & PET Bottles and Containers for Pesticides, Insecticides,
Pharmaceutical, Cooking Oil and Mineral Water Industries with a large variety of colors, weights
and sizes according to the need of our valued customers. We are specialized in Plastic Containers
& Bottles for pesticide industry in Pakistan. Latest technology and techniques are our pride, our
goods compete with international standards. We are having a highly skilled team which
contributes a lot in this competition.
Latest technology and techniques for plastic packaging are our pride, our bottles range compete
with standards and good quality along with customers satisfaction. Moderate population,
changing lifestyles and increasing middle class spending, export of plastics finished goods, high
growth prospects, significant independence on imported raw materials and processing
machineries are all favorable indicators of great opportunities for doing business in Pakistan.
PAKPLAS2016 is the leading international trade fair dedicated towards plastic machinery,
components, raw materials and chemicals. The fair presents products and services, technologies
and innovations and future trends and markets for trade. It is an international meeting place for
worldwide suppliers and regional manufacturers.
PAKPLAS2016 is expected to attract more exhibitors, visitors, and international attendance
compared with the previous year exhibition. As the show will be held at the Lahore International
Expo Centre, PAKPLAS2016 will be a much bigger show held over a much larger area. This
increase in the scale of the event will convey a strong message about the prominence of the show

in the plastic industry markets, providing an essential forum for established key players as well
as new companies targeting the Middle East & the ever-growing worldwide markets.

Supply chain process:

Supply chain process- Hassan PLAS Packaging ltd .
The supply chain process of the Hassan PLAS which is the plastic bottle manufacturing
company.
Customer order: First of all customer place an order to the company. That how much and in
which time frame they required their products.
Confirm schedule: Then they confirm the order from their customer.

Purchasing and material control: They check the inventory that they fulfill the deand of
their customer with their stock if not then they purchase raw material from their supplier.
Material delivered: when the material is delivered then they sent out this for the production.
Production:
Raw material: Its supply chain process starts with the warehouse of raw material. The
material either in powder or chemical form is placed separately to avoid any kind of hazardous
reaction. The major raw material is the PET (polyethylene teraphthalate) which is the high gloss,
crack- resistant transparent plastic used largely in making carbonated beverage bottles. They
purchase raw material from local supplier
Color mixing: After that they mix color in it on the demand of their customer. If customer
dont want colorful bottles then they dont mix in it.
.Boiler: After the mixing of PET the mixture drop into the boiler machine which is the fuel
burning apparatus or container to melt the PET. The process last for around 2 to 3 hours, to drive
the raw material into thick and liquid plastic.
Injection Modeling: The machine shoots the melted plastic at a high pressure to an injection
molding machine which is the most common method in plastic making. The process involved
injection of the plastic at a high pressurized mold to transform them into plastic shape. Once the
bottle is in shape and cooled down the mold machine automatically opened and a general shape
of harden plastic bottles are taken out.
Blow molder: The harden bottles are placed into another machine known as blow molder in
this machine the rod is inserted into the solid bottle to stretch to blowing extremely high pressure
into the mold, this forces the bottle to swell and transform into a shape of regular soft plastic
bottle. Cold air circulates within the plastic bottle and set the plastic bottle.

Packaging: After that products are sent out for the packaging.
Delivery: Products are deliver to their customer through transportation
mode which is truck.

Problem Identification: There are many sub problems in supply chain

management such as network design, logistic management, customer
service and other. These problems can be both general and specific. General
problem occurs horizontally.
Supply chain
management consist of dealing with managerial and technical problems.
These problems are related with many common issue that must be
addressed to supply chain functions effectively and efficiently.
Following are the problems and gap Hassan PLAS are going through:
1. Ware house: Hassan PLAS dont have separate ware house to put
raw material. The biggest drawback because there is no check and
balance on inventory as it is under the same roof where all the
production functions are being done.

2. Lack of machinery: As you see there are not much

machinery to perform general task, labor have to take a raw
material to the boiler. This is very time consuming and
ineffective. If they use new machinery then their productivity
will be improved and it takes less time and also they will
bear less labor cost.
3. No safety measures: Labor are performing their task
without any precautions. As Hassan PLAS is producing plastic
bottles in which different chemical are being used in the
manufacturing process, so they are not wearing any gloves,
chemical can react n their skin. And production will be
stopped for a while and this will lead to loss, less productivity
and less effective.
4. Packing final product: This activity is also done manually.
If they use specific machine for this process then again they
will save their time and also bear less labor cost.

Recommendations: firstly we recommend that must hire supply chain

manager who look after all the production processes and they need to
develop the proper departments for their production. Provide safety
measures to their labor. They have to use new machinery for less time
consuming and which also lead to less labor cost.
Recommends that companies establish a strategy to reduce the impacts of plastic, including
setting targets with deadlines.
Companies can mitigate plastic-related risks and take advantage of the opportunities by
improving their measurement, management and disclosure of plastic. Initially, this means
measuring and reporting their use of plastic, as many companies already do with carbon
emissions and other environmental impacts. Best practice frameworks to support companies in
doing this in a standardized way include the Plastic Disclosure Project.
In order to properly identify the risks and opportunities, and manage these properly, this
recommends that company greatly improve the quantity and quality of the information they
gather and report on plastic. Company could also disclose how plastic is used in products and
packaging. Reporting on the fate of plastic at the end of its life is relevant, such as whether it is
disposed of to landfill or incineration with or without energy recovery, or whether it is recycled
or reused.
Innovation often requires a range of participants along the supply chain to work together,
possibly with an official body acting as coordinator. .
Key recommendations for companies:
Raise awareness of the risks and opportunities of plastic at executive board level.
Commit to reducing the environmental impact of plastic and set targets with deadlines to ensure
this goal is achieved.
Innovate products and processes to increase resource efficiency and recycling of plastic.
Provide Safety measures to their employees

Action plan: Machinery should be properly organized in a line because in Hassan PLAS
machinery is not properly organized and they have to use new technological machinery for
their production which can save their time and occur less labor cost.
Workers must be wearing safety
measures because this is an plastic bottles company which have very dangerous chemicals.
So they must b aware of this and give heir labor a proper suit and gloves.
They should have
their ERP system for handling the inventory because they dont have proper ware house and
no check and balance on their inventory.
They have to hire specific supply chain manager
which handle their production more effectively and efficiently
They have to buy a ware
house for safe keeping of inventory.

Conclusion:

Hassan PLAS is facing many supply chain issues like ,

lack of machinery, un educated labor, no ware house, no supply chain
manager, no safety measures no system for handling inventory and
others. They have to overcome these issues then they will make more
profit and a good supply chain process.
