1 Punch Down Tools: RJ45. An 8-Pin/8

This document lists and describes several common tools used for networking cable installation and testing. It discusses punch down tools for terminating cables, keystone jacks and panels for mounting connections, RJ45 connectors for Ethernet, cable testers for checking cable integrity, crimping tools for affixing connectors to cables, cutters for removing cable material, test pens for checking circuits, and multimeters for measuring electrical values. Proper use of these tools allows technicians to install and test networking cables and connections.

A punch down tool,

also called
apunchdown tool or a
krone tool (named after
the KRONE LSA-PLUS
connector), is a small
hand tool used by
telecommunication and
network technicians.
A keystone jack is a
female connector used
in data communications,
particularly local area
networks (LANs).
The jack is usually
mounted in a wall plate
or patch panel.
A keystone plug is the
matching male
connector, usually
attached to the end of a
cable or cord.
a board in a
switchboard, computer,
or other device with a
number of electric
sockets that can be
connected in various
combinations.
RJ45. An 8-pin/8position plug or jack is
commonly used to
connect computers onto
Ethernet-based local
area networks (LAN).
Two wiring schemes
T568A and T568Bare
used to terminate the
twisted-pair cable onto
the connector interface.
A cable tester is a
device that is used
to test the strength and
connectivity of a
particular type
of cable or other wired
assemblies. There are a
number of different
types of cabletesters,
each able to test a

specific type of cable or

wire (some may be able
to test different types
of cables or wires).

A crimping tool is a
device used to conjoin
two pieces of metal by
deforming one or both of
them in a way that causes
them to hold each other.
The result of
the tool'swork is called
a crimp. A good example
of crimping is the
process of affixing a
connector to the end of a
cable.
In the context of
machining, a
power cutter or cutter is
any tool that is used to
remove material from the
workpiece by means of
shear
deformation. Cutting may
be accomplished by
single-point or
multipoint tools.
This tool is used to test
circuits quickly to ensure
that the circuit or
conductor is live or not
guided from indicator bulb
or LED. The rated voltage
for this tool only for
600VAC below.
An instrument designed to
measure electric current,
voltage, and usually
resistance, typically over
several ranges of value.

An enlarged end or
attachment on the end of
the mandrel on a lathe,
with slots and holes on
which work can be
mounted.
