To My BumbleBee

To my wonderful sister and best friend, Grace Amaka Iromuanya,

aka Bee

Adelere Adesina

I have had several friends, and no enemy defined by me of

another person. However, there are outstanding friends, and
one among them. Grace is not just a friend and sister, but a
best friend for the rest of life.

[5]

To My BumbleBee

God is praised for this work, and every other that I have made.
He is the Creator of the creator.

Adelere Adesina

[7]

To My BumbleBee

Call a smile outta your face

and a cheer from your heart.
You are the greenness of life,
the yellow that pollens flowers.
For this, a sweet fragrance you carry
and a beauty so undeniable.
You are my darling, darling.

Adelere Adesina

The moon is on its way to descend

and the sun comes nearer, turns cooler.
Waters of the earth stand on their tails
and animals turn to their tales.
Your house is coloured
with pure gold, and diamond.
You are jewelled
in garlands of my love.
The whole universe
cannot but take a glance,
and a glance, and a glance,
and a view unchanging, unending.

[9]

To My BumbleBee

Covered

in the leaves of the grass bow,

your golden feet do not show to the world.

Perhaps the field covets its slimness
and the daisyflora, its rainbowness.
I run in the paths these toes print,
for there is beauty in the step:
that I cannot withstand,
that I embrace,
darling sister.

Adelere Adesina

have no doubt again

that white sun

has a shadow:
you, daring light.
On earth
is a princess
from a town
away from the planets,
from the stars to.

[11]

To My BumbleBee

There's a waltz in my head,

that you can hear clearly.
There is a song in my heart,
the beat to which you dance.
There is a melody in the wind:
your mellifluous harmonies all these.

The sails of the butterfly changes

towards your place.
The path of the sun at west
reverses to east.
Day stays young.
Night contends to come.

All in life delights

to hear the buzzing songs
of sweet tales of joy
on the lips of you,
bumbleBee.

Adelere Adesina

have read sweet novels of great writers;

but, every time I read your lips,

honey drips as rain
and cloudy a day turns clear.

I have read tails of the pen

and heads raised in power.
Yet, when I read your hands,
I see the future of the world
in the palms of a gentle, tender creature.

[13]

To My BumbleBee

Dreams have never failed

to cart me away
from this world of toil
into an oblivion:

where your smiles

are the sun's rays,
and your tender voice
is as the beating drops of the rain,
and your heart's
melts stones to balm.

Little wonder
sleep
snatches me so often
to this world of yours, Grace.

Adelere Adesina

From the universe far away,

there comes tunes, music of love
and of care and of delight.
All wash away from my face sebum
and from my brain waves of untidy work.

The loathe is disloved and the hate is unliked.

The only left is sopranoes of highest cymbals
from the hums of the honey that overflows,
from the Bee that outpours
into my soul.

[15]

To My BumbleBee

When

I had some sourness

of the wounds I had

of my heart and from the earth,
dirt on the mind
or soil on the cut,

it is you sister,
you, who clean them.
It is you, who wash,
without disdains at the grim,
away the pains.

Adelere Adesina

Let

us soar in wings of the

nightingale's
songs of love,
darling sister.

Let us fall rapidly

like its feathers,
but never wound our feet on the stone.

Let us pierce the sweetness

with a beak,
reach the peak,
rich creeks of calm flows.

Let us descend from the mountains

which soon vanish into cities,
hills turning into hamlets,
rocks watering away,
into valleys of firlove,
[17]

To My BumbleBee
of pineaffection
and an eternal kiss of the true family,
of the one blood we share.

Adelere Adesina

shall gift you my labour

and pay my wages in more.

You have done more of a smile
and a millon miles for my face.

You deserve ends of the earth

and the tips of the heavens above,
the lasting paths of the rainbows
from where I pluck you flowers,

petals of the red,

anthers of the orange,
stalk of the yellow,
pollens of the green,
stamen of the blue,
stigma of the indigo,
fragrance of the violet.

I shall gift you my toil

[19]

To My BumbleBee
into the day's most dread mist
and night's most weary wrought.
I shall make boil lakes
for a soothing warmth.
I shall make cool pools
for a calming crisp.

For as long as a breath is sustained,

your recall of me shall be
with a tender smile,
such found, a copy of, only
in sweet heaven's bosom.

Adelere Adesina

Sister,
let's dance
to a jazz I have
in my heart
and the beats
of the
rustling winds
in the claps of
autumn winds
under a moonlight
by a drumming step
and steps
of our feet.
Let our rhythm out so loud,
trunks of the trees triumph not travail,
trunks of elephants trumpet not trump.

There, let's give Nature,

who has turned sour
a place to dance
[21]

To My BumbleBee
and smile
with our laughs.

Adelere Adesina

Let me sit on your wings,

and delight in your plentiness.
Sweetest of sisters of the salt,
soft sound of God's whispers,
creature of a breath and a word,
and with wings of the heart.
Let me sit there,
the morning illumination
and wisp of lightning
across the grins of the firmament.
Let me sit
holding your hands again;
we both stare into vastness
and remember the moment only:
a sister, a brother for ever.

[23]

To My BumbleBee

The chemist needs

a ten of a thousand
magnifying glasses
to see quite well:

on your hair, the gold,

on your face, eyes of silver,
on your hands, skin as water,
on your legs, brass, pure brass.

A beauty for which I ever open my mouth

agape, this gape, this gap, this a
wonder.
Darling Bee,
you're a crown
among Bees,
and a royal jewel
among darlings.

Adelere Adesina

Forever,
friends to souls,
a pair unbreakable,
a family without fail
a bond without loose,
a knot without end,
a company without border,
two that ever remain
best friends and family
till eternal rest starts
and eternal start rests.
