Congratulations to the Adams 8th grade volleyball
Congratulations to the Adams 8th grade volleyball team for winning its last game against Edna Hill last week
25-23, 12-25, and 15-13. Great serving by Paige led your yellow jackets. Your 8th grade team is Sidney, Paige,
Roxanne, Hailey, Tamana, Macie, Kaya, Sophia, Imari, Abby, Kendall and Doriana. Go Yellow Jackets!
The Book Fair is Here!
Visit the Book Fair to get the latest good reads for summer! The fair will be open before and after school, at
lunch, and during Open House. Which adventure will you dive into?
#icanhelp Spirit Day and High Five Highway!
Wednesday, May 18th is a #icanhelp spirit day! Wear your shirts and join us for a High-Five Highway as you
arrive at school. Well have students lined up to give people high fives as they walk through the gates. Join
the line and lets see how long our highway can be! (5/17)
8th Grade Promotion Speaker
Any 8th grader who would like to audition to be the student speaker at our promotion ceremony on June 1st
should see their science teacher to get information. Auditions will be held after school on Wednesday, May
18th.
Bouncin Up Outta Here CANCELLED
The Bounce Out Event this Friday has been CANCELLED due to low ticket sales. All students who paid will be
reimbursed. Please see Mrs. Thornhill after school in room 3 for your refund. (5/11-5/13)

DC & NYC TRIP 2017


7th graders, there are just 5 days left for the DC & NYC 2017 Spring discount deadline and we have a few
more spots available. If you, a friend or family member have been thinking about joining this trip, register
now to save your spot and some money! Go to WorldStrides.org and use group ID # 133381 to sign up!
DC & NYC TRIP 2016
8th graders, remember you need to turn in your forms to Mrs. Carman as soon as possible, come on down to
43 to drop them off.
Graduation Leis!
8th graders: dont miss out on having a lei for graduation! There are many styles for both boys and girls and
25% of all proceeds come back to our school! Go to Kahunaflowers.com to order by May 27th! (5/27)
Wheres the Bee?
The #icanhelp Committee of ASB is sponsoring a contest to end the year with some fun! Starting May 2nd,
each Monday in Advisory, you will look at a picture of our bee. The bee is somewhere on campus, and your
job is to guess where! At the end of the contest, you class will submit their answers to Mrs. Thornhill. Every
class that guessed 100% correct will be put into a drawing and the class that is picked will get a donut party!

Snack Hut: The last snack hut of the year is TOMORROW!!!!!

CJSF book donations


CJSF is accepting book donations for their used book sale fundraiser. Please drop off book donations in
Room 47 through Thursday. Posters have been made. Please check in with Mrs. Kennealy on Thursday at BLunch to help with final book sorting for the sale.
CJSF used book sale will be at Open House outside room 47. All books are $1. (5-12)
CJSF Club:
Mark your calendars for our Spring Membership Induction Ceremony on Tuesday, May 17 at 6:00 pm in the
Adams Theatre. 8th grade CJSF Honor members will receive awards that evening. (5-17)
Track Team:
Please drop off your uniform in room 33 this week, before school, after school, or during lunch B if the
drama room is not open. Our team party is this Thursday in the Theater. If you did not get your medal at the
Invitationals last Friday, we will bring it to the Track Party.
7th Grade Water Park Tickets
The water park field trip is Tuesday, May 31st. Tickets will be on sale the week of May 16-20, before and after
school at the student office window. You must have your signed permission slip and payment to buy your
ticket. Once we have a list of all students attending, you will be assigned to a bus and your bus assignment
will be posted in your advisory class and the student office window. You will need your ticket to get on the
bus. Any students not attending the trip will be assigned to a classroom and those assignments will also be
posted. REMEMBER, you may not purchase a water park ticket if you are on the non-activities list.
You will be on the non-activities list for the following reasons:
1) More than 10 tardies during 4th quarter.
2) Any suspensions between March 29 and the activity.
3) More than 2 F's on the 3rd quarter report card and/or 4th quarter progress report.
4) Any overdue library books
5) The administration reserves the right to withhold student participation in any school activities based on
overall behavior.
**Ineligible students may participate in a planning conference to develop a contract for success.

Pinterest Projects with Ms. Calaway (4 weeks only). Pintrest Class Projects and Supply list can be picked up in Mrs.
Calaways room. Tuesdays after school 2:45 3:40 pm in Room 23. Weeks 6 9 only (5/24).
