At the end of this lesson the fourth grade students
will understand what the pilgrims ate, what they
wore, what kind of places they lived in, the
different types of transportation, and the different
diseases that they carried.

While working individually all the fourth grade
students will be able to design and create a booklet
on pilgrims. The students will be able to complete
this five page booklets with 100% accuracy.
Formative- I will make sure each child understand
that they can do about this assignment anyways as
long as they follow the rubric.
Summative- The children will have their booklets to

see how the Pilgrims lived. I will have a rubric so


that the students can follow.

seated in the front row away from windows
because what is going on outside can easily
distract the student.
Give extra time for the students who need to finish
it for homework.

While working individually all the fourth grade
students will be able to design and create a booklet
on pilgrims. The students will be able to complete
this five page booklets with 100% accuracy.
Transition
The fourth grade students will fill out the KWL chart
first will fill out the K and the W column.
Begin the lesson with demonstrating on the white
board what a KWL chart is and how it should look.
Have the students write in the K and the W column.
First, tell the students that they can do this booklet
how ever they want as long as it is 5 pages and has
the 5 items that are listed (transportation, clothes,
food, houses, and diseases.
Then begin telling the students they can go row by
row to go up and get the supplies that they need to
do their booklet.
I will be walking around the make sure each student
is on task and if they need any help.
The students should be able to cut and paste what
ever they think is correct for the lesson to be
complete.
After, the students finished the 5 pages they need to
make it into a book. (staple together, ribbon it
together, or how ever they want their book to be
together)
The students will be presenting their booklets in
front of the classroom the next day in class.
I will be grading off of completion and the rubric.

Summary & Review of the Learning
Review with the students the different ideas and
explains of what their booklet can include. Explain
that not everyones booklet should look the same
because not every pilgrim wore the same clothes or
ate the same food.
Homework/Assignments
If the students do not finish the booklet in the
classroom they can take it home to finish for
homework and bring to class the next day.
