photography.
His photographs were all about human struggles
and joys in life.
He was acknowledged worldwide as one of today
finest image-makers

STEVE MCCURRYS PHOTOGRAPHS

McCurry was born on February 24th, 1950 and grew


up in Philadelphia.
He went to Europe before attending College of Art
and Architecture at University of Pennsylvania, also
graduate cum laude from there.
He worked for Philadelphia newspaper for a few
years as a photographer.

EARLY LIFE

He went to India to work independently and started his career.


Cross the Pakistan border into Afghanistan in 1979
When travelling through Afghanistan he captured the human
cost of the Afghan-Soviet War. These pictures were publish in
the New York Times.
His work for 3 decades not only showed the physical war or
what it did on the landscapes but also the effects it had on
the people it involved.

His coverage for 9/11 become a key document of the attack.
