TheJournalofKrishnaInstituteofMedicalSciencesUniversity(JKIMSU),(ISSN22314261)ispeer
reviewed,openaccessjournalpublishedquarterly(JanuarytoMarch,ApriltoJune,JulytoSeptember
andOctobertoDecember)intwoformatsprintedandonline(epubaheadofprint).Themainaimsofthis
journalaretopublishnovelandinterestingobservationsandadvancescientificknowledgeinallthe
branchesofmedicineandalliedsciences.TheJKIMSUprovidesaninternationalandinterdisciplinary
forumforthedisseminationofpeerreviewedreviewarticles,originalarticles,casereports,short
communication,letterstotheeditorandbookreviewsinthefieldofallbranchesofmedicalsciences.The
advisoryboardandeditorialboardofJKIMSUincludewellknowneminentscientistsfromIndiaand
abroadinallthebranchesofmedicinetoproduceahighqualityscientificjournalanimpacton
researchersandpractitioners.
Themostofthearticlesacceptedforpublicationwillbebasedontheworkcarriedoutaspartofaresearch
projectsorpostgraduate/doctoralprogramme.
Contributionsareexpectedtobeofahighstandard,notonlyinrespectofsubjectmatteranditstreatment,
butalsointhequalityofwriting.Particularattentiontobegiveninclarityandconcisenessofexpression.
Submissionofamanuscriptaccompaniescertificationonthepartoftheauthor(s)thatthearticlesubmitted
hasnotbeenpublished,norisbeingconsideredforpublicationinanyothersimilarjournal.Contributions
may,however,beconsideredbasedonpriorconferencepresentation.
Allcontributionsthatareconsideredbytheeditorstobewithintheaimandscopeofthejournalare
subjectedtopeerreviewbyatleasttworeviewers.Decisionofpublicationismadebytheeditorialboard
asperthedirectionofthereviewersandtheresponsestothequeriesofreviewersfromtheauthor(s).

mailispreferredoronecopyofmanuscript,onesetofqualityglossyprintsorCDshouldbesubmittedto
theEditorinChiefofJKIMSU.

AuthorshipCriteria:
Authorshipcreditshouldbebasedonlyonsubstantialcontributions
1.Conceptionanddesignoracquisitionofdataoranalysisandinterpretationofdata
2.Draftingthearticleorrevisingitcriticallyforimportantintellectualcontent
3.Finalapprovaloftheversiontobepublished.
Conditions1,2,and3mustbemet.Participationsolelyintheacquisitionoffundingorthecollectionof
datadoesnotjustifyauthorship.Generalsupervisionoftheresearchgroupisnotsufficientforauthorship.
Eachcontributorshouldhaveparticipatedsufficientlyintheworktotakepublicresponsibilityfor
appropriateportionsofthecontent.Theorderofnamingthecontributorsshouldbebasedontherelative
contributionofthecontributortowardsthestudyandwritingthemanuscript.Oncesubmittedtheorder
cannotbechangedwithoutwrittenconsentofallthecontributors.
Forastudyfrominasingleinstitutethenumberofcontributorsshouldnotexceedsix.Foracasereport,
briefcommunication,lettertotheeditorandreviewarticlethenumberofcontributorsshouldnotexceed
four.Ajustificationshouldbeincluded,ifthenumberofcontributorsexceedstheselimits.
Onlythosewhohavedonesubstantialworkinaparticularfieldcanwriteareviewarticle.Ashortsummary
oftheworkdonebythecontributor(s)inthefieldofreviewshouldaccompanythemanuscript.Thejournal
expectsthecontributorstogivepostpublicationupdatesonthesubjectofreview.Theupdateshouldbe
brief,coveringtheadvancesinthefieldafterthepublicationofarticleandshouldbesentasaletterto
editor,asandwhenmajordevelopmentoccursinthefield.

Contributorsshouldprovideadescriptionofwhateachofthemcontributedtowardsthemanuscript.
Descriptionshouldbedividedinfollowingcategories,asapplicable:concepts,design,definitionof
intellectualcontent,literaturesearch,clinicalstudies,experimentalstudies,dataacquisition,dataanalysis,
statisticalanalysis,manuscriptpreparation,manuscripteditingandmanuscriptreview.Authors'
contributionswillbeprintedonthefirstpageofthearticle.Oneormoreauthorshouldtakeresponsibilityof
theintegrityoftheworkasawholefrominceptiontopublishedarticleandshouldbedesignatedas
'guarantor'.

ConflictsofInterest:
Allauthorsofsubmittingarticlestothejournalmustdiscloseanyconflictofinteresttheymayhavewithan
institutionorproductthatismentionedinthemanuscriptand/orisimportanttotheoutcomeofthestudy
presented.Authorsshouldalsodiscloseconflictofinterestwithproductsthatcompetewiththose
