Simpack General

SIMPACK offers interfaces to MATLAB/Simulink that allow bidirectional exchange of models between the two platforms. This includes co-simulation capabilities that leverage the strengths of both solvers, as well as tools for exporting SIMPACK models to Simulink and importing Simulink models into SIMPACK. The interfaces support applications like hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop simulations by enabling SIMPACK multi-body models to be used independently of SIMPACK or incorporated as control elements.

(SIMAT, MATSIM, SIMPACK Code Export)
With SIMAT and MATSIM, suitable interface technology is
offered for any mechatronic simulation task. SIMPACK models
may be exported to MATLAB or MATLAB models may be exported
to SIMPACK (using the Realtime Workshop). Additionally the
benets of both solvers may be used in conjunction via a Cosimulation. The previous missing link between Simulink and
FEA/CAD data may now be realised by SIMPACK.

Co-Simulation
SIMPACKs SIMAT can be used for a Co-simulation with nonlinear systems. Having the benets of both solvers, SIMAT makes
it possible to handle any mechatronic simulation task. The Portcommunication platform is independent and works via a TCP/IPInterface, with both the SIMPACK and the Simulink solver running
consecutively. Discrete data exchange at a xed sample rate
makes the Co-simulation easy to handle. Supplementary Postprocessing can be done in MATLAB and SIMPACK.

Model Export from SIMPACK to MATLAB/Simulink

(SIMPACK Code Export)
SIMPACK Code Export has been designed to make existing
and future multi-body models available to any non SIMPACK
simulation environment. Application areas are hardware-in-the
loop (HIL), software-in-the loop (SIL), simulators and general
real-time applications. It is also the tool designed for engineering
and consulting companies who develop multi-body models for
customers, who want to use those models independently from
a SIMPACK installation. Finally, by means of the SIMPACK Code
export, multi-body models can be used as a black box by
third-parties, without having to reveal the model topology and
structure. If required, SIMPACKs solver can also be exported to
Simulink.

Model Export from MATLAB/Simulink to SIMPACK

(MATSIM)
SIMPACKs MATSIM enables the user to incorporate MATLAB/
Simulink models into SIMPACK. The user needs only to export
Simulink models to SIMPACK via the MATLAB Realtime Workshop.
The Simulink model which is then available as C-Code is linked
to SIMPACK as a Control Element. The parameterisation of an
exported Simulink model is performed within SIMPACK.
