Nestled in the Finger Lakes Region of central New York, Ithaca attracts thousands of visitors every
year. Often referred to as 15 square miles surrounded by reality, Ithaca hosts some of central
New Yorks most breathtaking landscapes and natural beauties. With over 150 waterfalls in 10
square miles, a plethora of hiking trails and activities ranging from biking to paddleboarding,
the Ithaca area is an outdoor enthusiasts paradise.

Ithaca Is hiking...

Cascadilla Gorge

The Cascadilla Gorge trail


is strewn with multiple levels
of cascading falls scattered
throughout the 0.5 mile hike.
The trail connects Court Street,
located in downtown Ithaca, to
College Avenue, located below
Cornell University. The trail is
comprised of a steep flight of
stairs adjacent to the falls.

Buttermilk Falls gushes into


a natural pool, forming a
perfect swimming hole at
the base of the falls.
Visitors have access to five
hiking trails ranging from
0.75 miles to 1.5 miles in
distance. Upstream, a path
circles the charming
Lake Treman.

Taughannoc k Falls

Taughannock Falls, three stories taller than Niagara Falls, is open


to the public year-round. The park contains moderate-level
hiking trails ranging from 0.75 miles to 1.5 miles long.

Ithaca Is relaxing...
Speckled with wispy weeping willows, Stewart
Park resides next to the resting waters of
Cayuga Lake. The park contains playgrounds,
BBQ pits, athletic fields, tennis courts and
pavilions that are available for rent. Visitors can
also enjoy a carousel, a bird sanctuary, a
municipal golf course and a walking trail along
the shoreline of the lake. All of the parks
facilities are free to be used by the public.

Rober t H. Treman S tate Par k


Treman State Park is comprised of 9 miles of twisting trails, leading hikers past 12 waterfalls
including the 115-foot Lucifer Falls. At the base of the falls is a rugged gorge for swimming
known as Enfield Glen. Treman is open from April 22November 19 and offers cabins, tent
sites and RV sites for camping. Call 607-273-3440 for more details.

Ithaca Is adventuring...
Cayuga Lake Cruises tour the serene Cayuga
Lake and offers dinner, lunch, brunch buffet,
cocktail and happy hour cruises. Cruises are
available for booking from mid May to late
October and depart from the M/V Columbia Pier
located at 708 W. Buffalo St. For more

Looking for more adventure than a cruise? You can
hover over the beautiful waters of Cayuga Lake on
kayak, canoe or paddleboard.
Paddle-n-More, with locations in Myers Park in
Lansing and Taughannock Falls State Park in
Trumansburg, offers kayaks, canoes and

Ithaca Bike Rental is a new program of the Ithaca


Youth Bureau that presents visitors with an enjoyable
and fit way to explore the grandeur of the Ithaca area.
