POSITION DESCRIPTION

Post No: A036 317M

Position Title: Project Editor (maternity cover)

Current Post Holder: Vacant

Location: 215 Euston Road

Reporting to: Publishing Projects Manager

Key Objectives:

To project manage serial publications (Trustlink and Big Picture). To progress other projects
(print and web) through Publishing.

Main Duties:

1. Managing Publishing projects (web and print) through the department, in particular Big
Picture, Trustlink (our staff magazine) and Wellcome Image Awards.
2. Liaising with internal clients and taking project briefs for editorially driven projects (web
and/or print).
3. Contributing editorially (writing and/or editing) to projects, where appropriate.
4. Involvement in the editorial development of staff news magazine, Trustlink, and intranet,
Trustnet.
5. Contracting and managing relevant external content providers (e.g. animators,
illustrators, writers/editors) for web and print projects, where appropriate.
6. Liaising with staff in other communications functions to ensure input from all relevant
parties.
7. Undertaking and supervising picture research for projects and written material.
8. Contributing to the development of efficient systems/processes and adoption of best
working practice in the department.
9. Undertaking any other duties as required from time to time.

Organisational Relationships:

Reporting to the Publishing Projects Manager and working closely with other editorial, web,
design and marketing staff. Liaising closely with clients on allocated projects.
