Bondurant-Farrar Community Schools Artifact Artifact Title: Evaluation Notes

This artifact is evaluation notes from the associate principal observing Courtney Ahlquist's classroom management. The notes provide feedback on how students entered the classroom in an orderly manner, worked well at tables and in groups, and knew classroom procedures and expectations. The principal commented that several aspects of classroom management went well during the observation. In reflection, Ahlquist noted it would be beneficial to establish a signal for students to use when their noise level gets too loud during center activities.

Description of artifact and how the artifact meets the standard:
The artifact displayed are evaluation notes from our schools associate principal, Kevin
VanderLinden. Kevin gave me feedback based on what he saw from my students entering the
classroom, their table work, large group, and center/small group time. He gave me notes on what
I did well and how students responded to me. He also stated that students really knew what they
were supposed to do when they came into the classroom and throughout the day.
Reflection on artifact (what went right, what went wrong, how to make better)
It was good to visit and read over the notes with Kevin, since one can always learn from
anothers feedback. Kevin said that several things went well during the observation. What I did
take away from my meeting with Kevin was to have some sort of signal for the students when
their noise level is getting too loud during centers.
